It's my father's magazine collection.Haven't those issues before. I read some of arcticles/dissertation inside of it and it's really informative.
Is this a magazine subscription that I can sign up for to have physically delivered to my house? If so where do I sign up?

Jason, its only a download electronic edition. You are free to print out pieces of it on your own, but the reason it can stay free is because it isn't in print. This is a new media, not a traditional magazine that only has static pictures. The e-zine can give you videos, more in-depth articles and click-and-spins that no print mag can do in itself.

Skiloff is correct. We are an 'electronic' magazine. You can read us on your computer, or if you have one of the new Apple iPads you can read us with the GoodReader app.
Because we're electronic there's no paper, ink, or postage costs which lets us be FREE to readers.
It also allows us to insert video clips and animations IN the magazine (embedded edition), something that can't be don't with print.
And since we don't have to pay for printing additional pages, some of our articles are really indepth. We've had articles that sometimes run to over 20 pages!
Being electronic also lets us have an interactive (hyper linked) index and table of contents. One mouse click will take you to the table of contents, one more will take you to any article in the magazine.
The draw backs to all this is obviously you can't roll an issue of MRH up and stick it in your back pocket and you need a reading device.
Some folks think reading from a computer screen isn't as nice as reading from paper. I thought so too, when I first heard about MRH. However, Joe Fugate, our publisher has a lot of experience in web site and graphics design - he knew how to format the e-zine to make it easier on your eyes when reading from a computer screen. And a 72lpi image in a regular magazine can't compare with the 'pop' you get when looking at a photo on a half-decent computer screen! It's like the difference between a projected slide and a print.
OK! Now about subscriptions - when you 'subscribe' to Model Railroad Hobbyist, you give us your email address. We do NOT share email addresses with ANYONE - not even our advertisers. We'll send you a notification email whenever a new issue of the magazine or newsletter is available so you don't have to live on our web site (unless you want to!) to find out when each new magazine is available. We'll let you know.
So if your willing to give us a try, why don't you go to our Current Issue page. You'll have two choices - either your can download the magazine (a .pdf file) into your computer (download means copy the magazine pdf file from the internet into your computer). To do this just click on the "Download NOW" button to bring up our download wizard (if you have questions about the wizard click the 'help' button on it). Once an issue of MRH has been downloaded, you'll use Adobe Reader (or equivalent) to read the .pdf file.
Or we've been posting the newer issues of our magazine on the internet for online viewing. Instead of downloading the magazine into your computer all at once, this method reads each page sequentially letting you start reading sooner. This is great for reading articles sequentially, but if you like to hop around when you read it will seem to be slower because each out-of-sequence page has to be loaded before you can see it. To read the magazine this way click on the 'Read ONLINE button'
ALL issues - current or back issues - of Model Railroad Hobbyist are FREE (to readers - we're advertiser supported - and free is a good price! Check out the Current Issue and I think you'll like what you see (click the Current Issue tab on this page's header to see the list of articles - there are 147 pages of quality content!)
I hope this clarifies things for you!
