Lots of new stuff this issue

Lots of new stuff this issue!

  1. Fresh new easier-to-read look
  2. Flash downloader has been retired -- it is no more.
  3. The new "cutting room floor" subscriber bonus downloads. What gets cut out each issue goes into bonus downloads in raw form.
  4. 2018 Reader survey -- please take it, this time we're probing a lot for kinds of articles and videos you want.
  5. Prep for an awesome issue 100 (June 2018) is well underway. We're working to make it really special.

Okay, corrected edition uploaded

Okay, we've uploaded a corrected edition that has some glitches fixed in it, most notably the survey link in the editorial.

Easy to read

This is a good idea but I’m sure you have other staff pictures to use as well and mix it up. How about using reader comments here?

First rattle out of the box

This is the first rattle out of the box, as they say for the new format. The staff wasn't quite sure what I was after here so I had to show them.

I will be encouraging other staff members to comment on articles now that they see what I meant by ad-hoc "staff comments" on articles in the margins.

I like the "staff comments"

It can add some hints and tips or add a little clarification. Kind of like having a conversation with someone while reading the article.
