June issue rolled out to the website ...

June issue is rolled out to the website for Monday, but because it got rolled out so late, we're going to let it "bake in" a day before we send the email blast to the masses. This means we won't change the front page or current issue links until Tuesday, when the email blast goes out.

Al-right - shameless plug

Went right to the last page - and there it was, the cover photo I helped with, along with part 1 of my 3 part article coming July 2013.

Checking my mailbox now, looking for that piece of paper from Joe....

BTW: another article is coming along well.  12 decal sets to apply, 7 pallets to finish, 16? (maybe leave a couple pallets empty) pallet loads to finish, wrapping all the pallet loads, and finally, the forklift kit to do.  Another couple of weeks ought to do it for that article.  The caboose article will take much longer.

Typo....

On the first page of the "Notes from MRH...', in the box giving the ratings for "May 2013", the title is shown as "May 2012"....

Nothing's Working!

None of the download buttons are functioning - I can't get the issue!!

I wonder if it's a problem with the website, or my local computer? The troubleshoot link works, as does everything except the download selections.

Try later...

Try it now

Try it now ... don't know what happened, but we refreshed the page code and it's all back.

No text in Sony E-reader (PRS-t2n)

Hello,

I just got a Sony E-reader (PRS-T2N) for the summer holiday. Although the colors are missing reading the new portrait version should be doable on this screenformat. But when viewing the june edition the only thing the Sony renders are those pages where advertisements are show. As soon as there aren't any advertisments on a page (e.g. frontpage, page 3, page 5 etc) the page stays blanc. Page 13 for example does render because it is a mix of advertisements and text (which is very good readable).

Are you aware of this issue?

Best regards,

Minor anomaly ...

In using the latest Landscape standard PC version in Windows XP SP3 and Adobe Reader V11, the previous page "arrow" on the bottom appears only on the first page of an article.

Article First Page:

Article Second Page:

Mysteriously, the "Take Snapshot" captures the left arrow, but the screen does not show the left arrow.

Here is a cropping of the Windows Full Screen Print:

Previous page arrow missing

I'm also using the landscape version with Windows XP and Adobe Reader 11 and haven't got any previous page arrows except on the first 2 pages and the Contents page. Although I can use the Adobe page arrows at the top, I find the two at the lower corners more convenient.

Cheers

Where are bonus downloads?

At the end of the article on Rob Carey's wonderful layout on P. 20 of the magazine, it says

"Get zoomable PDF track plans in the June bonus downloads"

I've looked in all the likely places without success. Would you please tell me where to find them?

Thanks.

Bonus Downloads

In the Menu at the top of the MRH website, under "Magazine" is the page for "Subscriber-only Extras"

http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh-2013-06-jun/bonus-extras

It's a little inconsistent in the naming from the Mag to the website, but that's where you will find them.

Also in the Mag contents, there is a link to Bonus Downloads, which takes you to page 12, where you can get a link directly to the downloads for that issue.

Cheers!

Aligned the names a little better

Okay, we aligned the names a little better - everything now says "subscriber only bonus extras".

Not sure how  you could miss it, though. The link is in the magazine table of contents and in the magazine index, its under the magazine menu and under the discussion forums menu here on the website.
