Well I am looking for help now with some wiring. I am working on getting a switch module (see image). We will most likely be making a yard module and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for blocks. The yard blocks would be separated by track and run by the sam power pack as their respective tracks. If we were running DCC this wouldn't be a problem but we have DC if anyone could help please do. Ordered some boxes from Bill for parts and got two different sizes. They arrived in a flat small package very quickly and in the last couple days finally got assembled. I didn't look at the directions but did a dry run before gluing the parts together. My work surface is an old set of architectural drawings, a bottle of white glue, some painters tape, and rubber bands.

I initially thought that I would prepare a layout as modules based loosely on the railroad where I grew up.  I had started to compile a decent amount of information and purchased a few structure kits and pieces of rolling stock to model.  I even assembled a 'module' to start with.  Then work got stressful and I wasn't even sure I'd still have a job at one point.  The fear of being penny-less forced me to curtail my hobby spending and start putting money aside.  Eventually things got better at work.  I even got a promotion.

This is my representation of Southern Pacific's Burbank Branch that was active until the early to mid 90's. The branch ran through the San Fernando Valley serving a variety of local industries from Burbank to Chatsworth. I grew up in the valley and lived for a few years on Chandler Blvd., where I remember watching the local freight roll by.
