Another random rambling

Well I haven't made a long new post in awhile so I thought I would start off with saying you can literally come up with some weird stuff in your dreams. I was this model show with my friend and he wanted to model train wreck scene so I told him he should use arduino or something of the sort to get the flashing light effect in cars (it was a passenger wreck). I have kept that "in storage in my mind for awhile just because I felt I could use it somewhere and wanted to post it on here.

Transfer Terminal Kitbash: Almost Done

It's always a good feeling when the "To Do" list starts to accumulate a lot of checkmarks.

Here's an interior view of the building. I put in just enough internal detail to look interesting through the open doorways. The optic fiber bundle is glued into a white LED located in the office area, and feeds through holes to illuminate the external light fixtures -- looks rather pretty in the dark.

Mounting the long central beam such that it didn't interfere with the roof support structure took a bit of figuring and fitting and fiddling.

BQR Control Panel continued -- finishing up

Been back working on the control panel -- starting to really appreciate the flexibility of using wire-wrap for this type of application. It has given me the flexibility of making changes -- like discovering that my idea of sharing on PM42 between two boosters was really a bad idea. The second PM42 is on my bench waiting to be installed. The impact to the control panel was discovering that the four bicolor power status LEDs needed to expand to eight (or run wires from the BDL168s plugs) -- and my vendor didn't have any more of that flavor of LEDs for a while.

Teen Association of Model Railroaders Facebook page is dead?

The TAMR Facebook page seems dead:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Teen-Association-of-Model-Railroaders/244...

What could be done to revive it - or should it be revived?

The old http://tamr.org website URL also is no longer functioning.

Maybe rather than do some age-specific site, we do something like host a TAMR-like hangout here? Encourage some of our teens to start something on here?

Or is there something that would appeal better to teens than Facebook or a website at tamr.org?

What do you think?

Odd thing I hope to never see again

I was in Osh Kosh Wisconsin a block away from the tracks right by where it crossed the old swing bridge (now replaced with a lift bridge) and had a train sitting there for hours because the bridge broke down.

My new camcorder - AND my 1st video around the layout!

***UPDATE*** Thanks to Rob in Texas for his idea to try a video by putting my camcorder on a flat car and taking it around the layout.  You can see the video later in this thread.

Ten years ago the Mrs. and I went on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  At that time I was able to convince her that I needed to replace my old Sony(tm) DV camcorder with a new mini DV Canon(tm) unit so that we could capture our trip to later share our memories.

Fast forward ten years...................

Looking for help with a local school club

I am looking for people in the Lomabrd Illinois area (could be companies hobbyshops volunteers etc.) that could help sponsor and build a layout for a model railroad club that may begin next school year I have not gone to the principal about it but last year he said it could be possible if I can find a teacher to do it. If you can help please put it in the comments or PM thanks.
