Cheakamus Canyon BCR- BC Rail British Columbia exhibition layout construction
Awhile ago, in discussion with a couple of mates.
We had discussed building a layout based on BCR - BC Rail, I stated that I would contemplate it if a Plastic C40-8M was available HO scale.
As luck would have it, a model did become available from Rapido trains https://www.rapidotrains.com/ho-dash-8-40cm/
Which meant that I needed to follow through and build a BCR layout.
After further discussion, we settled on an Exhibition layout based on Cheakamus Canyon.
This location is quite spectacular and required very deep scenery to do the location justice.
I came up with a design which would fit into my trailer, this consisted of:
two boards, 5'10' long, 4' high and 500mm wide.
One board of 1400mm long 4' high and 500mm wide.
thus a total display length of about 16' 2"
the boards are build with a 7mm ply base, 12mm ply sides, with 42mm X 19mm framing and 3mm MDF cleats.
This means that the boards includes, a pelmet with lighting to be attached behind.
The display boards are to be mated to the staging - fiddle yard of one of my other layouts "Murray River Bridge".
There are three bridges on the layout and they were built by Dave from Micro Engineering and Walthers kits.

ESU Cab Control Discussion
Having recently received my new ESU Cab Control and Mobile Control II throttle, I thought it might be useful to start a Blog and share experiences. I have deliberately made this a blog rather than a topic but invite anyone who has an interest in this subject to add to the discussion.
To ease the typing I would like to introduce some abbreviations:
CC = Cab control (The ICU or command station)
MC 2 = Mobile Control II ( The Android based handheld Throttle)

Many projects for 2019. What are yours ???
Lot of modeling projects course.
But the biggest to me is the decision to emigrate in Canada in the next comming months ( wait for my papers in fact)

URGENT! Someone is calling, saying they are from Comfort Inns and they are having computer problems with the reservation system for the 26 the and 27th. To keep your reservation they need you to give them your credit card number for verification. HANG UP!
Follow the Amhurst Sponsor logo go to Accommodations get the hotel number and call them. They are aware of the phishing. They will give you the police number to report the call. They will not ask for your CC number. If you gave out CC number call your card provider.

Red Eye Saloon
Still working on the country side of the layout. Started building the Red Eye Saloon by BTS. For non craftsman, the directions are fun to interpret, but making slow and steady progress. That piece to the left is a part can not figure out where it goes! :)
White Deer & Loganton Layout Plan/Build - Pennsylvania Narrow Gauge c.1910
Hey, Gang. Thought I'd start a new blog for the construction of what I'm initially calling A Full Day of Trains at Loganton.
My rambling, 11-page (so far!) blog on prototype research, historical context, and developing some potential layouts is over at https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/34770. Take a look for some of the background on this and other (hopefully future!) layouts. I'm not done with all the information there, but thought it would be good to break out and start something fresh for what I'm actually going to build.
Two locos in a consist
Hi all,
Being relatively new to the hobby, I have not, as yet, run a consist with two locomotives – and I’m not really sure how to do that.
I’m interested in acquiring Kato’s re-release of the Super Chief and it will be available with an F7A and F7B.
As a general question, how does one run two locos? Is it simply a matter of assigning both the same address?
Also, as these locos will be available with DCC or DCC+sound, I’m wondering if I should order both units with both or just having sound on the A unit.
