Layout design feedback
Looking for some feedback on my layout design. This is my first attempt at coming up with a trackplan so I know there's room for improvement. This is the third version of this layout that I came up with for this space and I figured Id post it here since I think it's the best.
So before getting too far into this, here's the background:
Prototype or freelanced or combo
As I prepare my final planning stages with computer drawings that have allot of my wants and feel I find myself questioning if my layout is going in the right direction.
I want to base my layout in Colorado on the Mainline of the D&RGW from Pueblo to Denver and Denver to Grand Junction. I do plan on adding the Craig Branch too. Era being late 80's to 90's.
Remodeling a bedroom for a shelf layout.
Hello everyone,
I am in the process of remodeling a bedroom and I am looking at ways to remodel it for a layout with less lift outs and more straight runs along the walls. The room is a typical 12' x 14' box. A 4' x 4' slider window is centered on the north wall. A 5' wide x 7' tall closet sits on the south end of the east wall. The 3' wide x 7' tall door sits on the west end of the south wall.
Are there any articles online that give advice pertaining to remodeling the room for a layout?
Layout Height
Our kids are out of the house, and I have the opportunity to build my HO layout in the "play room" that is above our garage. The floor is 21' x 24', but the big problem is that the walls are not vertical. Well, they are vertical for 36", then vault 45 degrees up to 13' at the peak of the room. (See isometric drawing)

Single or double track?
im redoing my layout and I have been planing for double track but out of curiosity which do you like better? Single track with passing sidings or double track and why?

Thanks to Arizona Rock and Mineral my model railroad dream will become a reality. I am doing a product review on their ballast and ground cover which will be featured on my 2'x5' switching layout. Construction will begin Monday and I can't believe it is really happening!!!
The plan:
First free-mo module
Hi, folks. This is my first time posting here, though I've been reading MRH on and off for a few years. I have been trying to get back into HO scale model railroading after being in the hobby as a kid and then a few years with a club as an adult. I think trying a Free-mo module makes sense. There are two clubs that are a day trip away. (I live on Long Island, so the NJ group and the Westchester group are not horribly far.) There might even be local interest if someone got something started.
Anyway, I have questions. Lots.
Scale conversion of a track plan
Logic tells me that a track plan in On3 that fits a 10' x 20' area if replicated in HOn3 will fit a 5' x10' area. Any pitfalls to this conclusion?

Feedback wanted: HO layout bridge route with branchline in 9.6 x 9.0 ft
Hi community members,
After 35+ years of armchair modelrailroading I finally have a room, benchwork almost done and a track plan idea. Now it's time to ask if I'm missing or can improve something? I’ll post this on some different fora to see if I get some good feedback.

Track Plan and Operations for a Paper Mill
Hi All,
Looking for some feedback on the track plan and operations for this paper mill layout.
It's a Proto-Freelanced DOMTAR Pulp and Paper Mill making finished computer paper and cardboard. The era is early 2000s. The paper mill yard connects to a spur (on the layout) that leads to the mainline. This spur also leads to several other industries (off the layout). A CN local picks-up and sets-out cars on KC 02. The paper mill has its own switcher.
