Question about oil storage tanks
Todays storage tanks have a berm built around them, was that a standard practice in the early 70s?
The Wathers kit has the berm included, but I dont know if thats correct for 1972.

Reattaching Peco (N Scale) closure rail?
When testing out some trackwork today, I discovered one of my PECO turnouts is broken. Specifically, one of the closure rails has detached from the throw bar.
Please excuse the fuzziness of the pictures, but you can see the floppy rail.

A recent post got me thinking.... So I decided to start this post
Please understand this is intended for HUMOR and not to be taken seriously. Also it may serve as a bit of therapy.

I have some trains I'd like identified
My dad has these trains he wants identified. He’s pretty old now and I have no idea how to identify for him. The metal ones don’t seem to have identifying names or numbers.
love some help for my dad. Thanks.
What is HO scale?
I have 3 scale converters, come to find out each one uses a difrent scale facotor for HO...Each one makes a huge differance when converting somthing to HO scale from N or N scale to HO.
What is HO scale???? better say in North America/USA...Any place else in the world, is not a factor for this question.
87 = 1.839
87.1 = 1.836
87.0857142 = 1.837
From what I can tell Model Railroader uses 87.1 on it's track plans,
Why do manufacturers all make the same thing over and over?
Scaletrains announced an ES44AC on Thursday and by the looks of it, it will be as impressive as all their other models but why make an ES44AC when so many manufacturers have already? How many can the market handle and at some point you cant sell anymore.
Take for instance literally every company out there makes a Railbox type box car, a 4750 cu ft hopper, or an F unit. It has gotten to a point that one model is not much better than the other.
