Cost Cutting Product for Dullcote

I just wanted to relate my possible thrift discovery. I went into my local wally world at the end of October to look for some flat sand spray paint for a project. I was shocked when I finally made it to the paint department .There were three (3) cans of colored paint left on the shelves. I then turned and found a can of spray bomb clear that advertised it was flat and on a lark decided to buy it. I am ALWAYS looking for a economical replacement for Dulcoat.

Dave Williams of Unreal Details (Magic Water) has died

I was saddened to learn today that Dave Williams, the owner of Unreal Details, died in November 2021.  He created and sold the product Magic Water, a two part epoxy for creating water effects.  I found out when I sent an email today to the contact address because I wanted to show him photos of my successful river made with his product.  I immediately got an auto response that said that Dave had died in November, that the email was not being monitored and not to order any Magic Water.

PCs for model railroaders.... or anyone, really

Probably THE most important thing with any PCs is the data, and ensuring its preservation. It is also one of the least likely things to be properly attended to amongst non-professional IT folks.

Weekly Photo Fun - Dec 12-18, 2021

It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.  There were a few late-comers in last week's post.  Check them out, then come back here afterward.

TAM Valley

Unfortunately, I have been informed that TAM Valley Depot is not longer able to provide a number of their products--including servo turnout controls and assoicated components. However, I have heard various rumors that there may be plans for others to take over the product line. Does anyone have definative information on the future of their product line and, if so, when the above products will become available?

Appolgies in advance if this subject has been previously discussed.

Regards,

Bill Adkins
