I'm ready to upgrade my smartphone to a newer model and would like some input as to which has the best camera for model railroad photography and videos. I currently have a Samsung S5. The features I'm looking for are good depth of field from the layout edge to 30", fast auto focus, and macro. Most newer smartphones have four cameras on the back. Do any of the cameras mimic the all in focus one can get with the Helicon software, but without taking multiple pictures?

Happened by Central Hobbies in Vancouver today in search of Woodland Scenics foam Inclines for the B&H extension, and these had just arrived.

I’ve only had time to read the first couple of chapters and page flip the 639 pages of this fascinating and very well bound Reference Book that contains many details and photos drawn from ShayLocomotives.com.  Includes a complete Builder’s list.

I have a number of older Brass Steam Locos that Im planning on refurbishing so they  can  be put into regular use on the layout.  Cleaning, painting and installation of a sound decoder is the plan,  but they need a replacement motor to work well with DCC.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a brand or type of motor i can  use for these engines.  The models are large 2-8-2 brass.

Wondering if there are any other HO modelers in the NW Arkansas area. I'm in Huntsville and building a 14x16 layout and would like to have some help and fellow modelers to share with.
