Campbell's Creek Railroad
I have been buying books about West Virginia railroading and have learned lots over the past 6 weeks. My future railroad space appears to be about 14 x 40 feet so that is what I have been assuming for my sketches. The first I am going to post is the Campbell's Creek Railroad based on Todd Hanson's very fine book: Campbell's Creek. This railroad has many of the things I am looking for including lots of mines and features to research and build. It interchanged with the Kanawha and Michigan RR (NYC) east of Charleston WV.

Building Barb's Bungalow (Part 1)
Hey everyone, thought I would show the progress on my Atlas Barb's Bungalow kit. The plan for this is to eventually have a full interior and lighting, but in the meantime, the plan is to do the exterior walls and leave the roof removable both for the future interior/lighting and so I can show it off when it's finished.

Interesting Paint / Primer discussion
A gentleman with a lot of experience in painting models is building a lifting bridge, and painting it via airbrush.
I thought some of his observations about the painting of the plastic model were quite interesting.
Masking windows; novice needs help
I want to get this model out of the case and mask the windows in order to weather it and seal it.
I've cut simple square pieces of masking tape in the past, but not ones with curves and hard to get at like the windows of the doors.
Any links, ideas, and techniques would be much appreciated.

Bitter Creek Ground Throws
I wanted to do something a bit different with my new layout. I had used Fast Tracks Bullfrog switch machines on my old layout and although they worked, they never worked great for me. I think that temperature changes in the basement might have contributed to their inconsistent performance. Plus, installation was quite difficult though that might have just been due to my inexperience with the product.
So, with my new layout I was determined not to use those again.
