Adobe Illustrator and Scale
I am not sure if anyone even knows the answer to this but I thought i'd give it a shot. I downloaded the track plug in for Illustrator that was designed by one of the MR staffers, looks pretty easy. My question is, how the heck do you set the scale to ensure everything is accurate in size?
The room size is accurate but the track is WAY to small. I click HO and it looks like Z scale track.
Also, if anyone else is using Illustrator, how are you doing the buildings and scenery?
Thanks!

Need some one who actually knows something about wiring....
I need a little help. I'm working on a control panel to help a friend align his turnouts and keep his trains on the route that he wants them on. The turnouts are Atlas code 83 snap switches and the switch machines are the Atlas above the table solenoids. I'd originally wired them to the Atlas controllers but a row of controllers was confusing to him and the switches caught a couple of times and burned up solenoids. I want to recess the momentary switches and give him a more graphic way to control the layout.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory Bug Fix
Version 3.1 of Easy Model Railroad Inventory is a bug fix in the library section of the program. Most of you will not have noticed but there is always one. While I was at it I added some more reports and changed others as requested.

Thanks for all of your support.

JL&T Railway Blog - Fleet Update...
Hi All,
Well it's been awhile since I have been able to post anything, I've been rather busy with the latest edition to the family and work. Today though marked a great day in the expansion of the locomotive fleet of the JL&T.

Backdrop Choices
OK, benchwork is 90% complete and I am soon ready for homosote and a backdrop. I'm looking for ideas for a lightwieght, low cost backdrop surface I can paint sky blue and airbrush clouds while adding cut-out scenery to the surface for depth illusion. Some have suggested luan and others are proponents of thin plywood - but that seems a bit heavy to me. The layout is a point-to-point which covers 20 feet with a gentle curve to the right after 8 feet.
Need Help!
I need your help, I had a walthers 90 foot turn table kit (HO). The word had is in bold, it seems that you can't accidently drop a hammer on it while fixing your backdrop.....it just didn't stand up to it.
So, this is where I need your help. I have been looking everywhere for a new one. Every site I go to has it on the web page, but go to order it and you find out it's on back order..... I kinda need it now, so I can lay down track to and from the turn table. If you see one, the kit not the $300. + built up....please let me know.

Spline clamps
I've a question for the spline gurus:
In all the photo examples of spline subroadbed that I've seen, there is a plethora of large spring clamps. But I'm cheap, so I've bought a bunch of small clamps to add to my large, strong (finger-tip crushing) clamps.
Is this going to be a problem when I'm gluing spline? I'll be using the stronger clamps at support points, but my plan was to use the small ones in-between to just hold the spline together. How much force do I need on the intermediates to be adequate?

Frog Juicer - How is it wired to the frog?
I'm interested in the Frog Juicer (sold by one of MRH sponsors) but have been unable to find information on how the frog is wired into the Juicer - I don't mean at the board, but how is the wire attached to the frog? Before I emailed the manufacturer I wanted to see if anyone one the forum can expain it to me. Obiviously the frog would have to be made out of metal.
Thanks!
Rick
IT comes to HL&B
Some bad video of My new (to me...aka Used) Gp 38-2 IT. I have to stop buying Engines and rolling stock, I keep playing and not working on the layout. I hope you like this one.
