New DCC store found for me...

Hello All,

I wasn't sure where to post this, I hope it's ok. I just wanted everyone to know I found a great DCC store. I have ordered from them 2 times now and they are great.

John the owner is on the ball. If it's on the web site he has it, not like other places that show it on the site and you have to wait for them to get it so you can get it. He ships it out quick and only charges you actual shipping charges.

Awesome site.

Thanks for looking.

Decoder for a PCM T-1

I have a straight DC PCM Reading T-1.   Recently, I equipped it with a TCS T1 decoder using the quick plug.   The decoder programed fine on the programing track. When I put the T-1 on the main, I got a short, and released the magic smoke from the decoder.

Any ideas of what went worng?

Caboose or no caboose?

Here's a question that I know will really generate some interesting answers. In the end, I think this will end up as a "unofficial modeling poll".

What happens when you cross a lighthouse with a lift bridge?

I wanted to add a lift bridge to my layout.

And I wanted a lighthouse.

But I didn`t have room for both.  So a little plastic surgery was in order.

These are the two victims of my bashing:

Free parts ...

Seems like everyone either has a computer printer die, or knows someone whose printer died. If you let the word out that you want one they tend to come out of the woodwork. Inside you will find it has a wealth of gears, springs, shafts, motors, wiring harnesses, and other goodies!

Iantha branch roster

Hello again every one. Thank for welcoming and I don't mind answering questions. Best way to see what going on with my layout is to go to my youtube channel. Link is in my signature. Anyway the piont of this post, my loco roster. Still working on expanding it (one can never have too many locomotives )

I don't know why the pictures are so grainy. They aren't like that on my computer

Paralyzed with fear

Hello all.

Here it is, time to program a stationary decoder, set up the tortise and install the turnout. Using NCE power cab, FIrst big step is my reversing loop. Anybody got any "don't do this" or "Do this" advise for me. I can do the soldering and lay the turnout, at least I tell myself I can. The reverser is a PSX-AR from DCC Specialties/Tony's Trains. The turnout is a Micro Engineering.

AFTER you get done chuckling, please.. send advise.

Uncoupling Cars

The benchwork on The Greater Nickel Plate is finished and we are awaiting next month's "allotment" for homosote and backdrop material - pictures to follow soon. In the meantime, I have been looking over the trackplan and have a question for those who have railroads up and running.

Building up your rolling stock fleet...

My question to the MRH masses is:

"How did you build up your rolling stock, and what defines your choices?"

I'm at the stage in the layout build that I'd like to start building up my rolling stock so that as the layout develops I can start to run a few small ops sessions on the completed sections.

Need help to develope operations

Howdy folks,  Well I've made a layout that is based off of a real working companies track layout in my area from back in the 1950's but I'm having trouble developing operations for this so I'm asking you all for help.  I will explain what the tracks are and how they were used.
