With the recent Tornados moving into our State the Hl&B RR was Lucky to have dodge them for now. The First batch moved into Raleigh and headed our way cutting a path right toward us, then, from the basement the all clear came and the sun came out and the birds were back. Not so Lucky was the county NE of us, they got hit very bad and people were killed. They say, for what ever reason, the tornados went up, and over my little town and into the next county over. The area we are in only had minor things, like missing shingles and down trees. We had no power all night that night.

Work goes slow on the HL&B, It seems the company didn't make payroll this week and the men are mad.

This is my Design that I am building now. Two Issues I need help on, one is how do I ballast a yard? Do I cover the entire yard with even gravel or do I make like on the mains?

and second, How do you model dirt and grass, I know you can make/buy a static grass machine, but other that that what can you use??

  Thanks again for such a warm welcome. 

Today, having the day off, I started working on my layout. I was so excited to have finaly started. I did not sit and make a track plan on paper, it's all stored in the head... We'll have to see by end of day what it looks like.
