Painting Roundhouse archbar trucks
I am in the process of assembling several "old time" roundhouse kits that come with archbar style trucks. The challenge I am having is getting paint to stick to the archbar trucks. I am new to paining and I have searched the posts here and have not found anything helpful.

Lone Wolf Operations?
I am building the Cornhill & Atherton as a “Lone Wolf”, through both circumstance and choice. This is a situation that is unlikely to change and I’m quite happy with it. But some time in the future I’m going to finish the build phase (unless I run out of cash) and then what?
The last thing I want to do is lose interest and have to start another railroad build, so I’m keen to operate the layout with something like car cards/waybills.

My first contest
Model Rail Radio is running a layout contest. The first phase of the contest - design - is over, and the build phase is begun. I submitted 2 designs for the contest, and both got picked in the final group of 5 winners!! almost didn't enter, now I am really glad I did - each of my winning entries was awarded a $50 prize - Whoo Hoo!
Am I fighting a loosing battle??
My son and I are looking to setup our first permanent layout, and as of a few weeks ago, I was reasonably sure we'd be going N scale... Fast-forward a few weeks and a couple layout visits, and we both would prefer HO scale now... I originally was looking at N due to our limited space, basically half a bed room, and I didn't think HO would fit...
Storing equipment
Heck, I've been storing my equipment on bookshelves for years. The ones with an open back I glued onto the back of the shelf balsa wood square strips as wheel stops, The diesels are in a separate book case starting at the top shelf with the switchers down to the last shelf which is the six-axle monsters. I was totally dissatisfied with the commercial inventory software available. I ended up making my own on MS Excel© and am quite satisfied with the way it came out. # # #
