Factory Weathered Rolling Stock

Does anyone know if any of the model railroad companies offer pre-weathered rolling stock in HO scale!

Driving LED from DCC track power

I've looked at Bruce Petrarca's web site (MrDccU) and he mentioned about using a Bridge Rectifer to drive (power) an LED.  I'm just not 100% sure I know which bridge rectifier I should be using.  I notice that they are rated for different voltage and current (i've got a few hanging around - 100VDC/1.5A, 400PIV/1.5A, 100PIV/2A, and 600V/4A).  Since I'm using a NCE PowerPro booster/Command station at 5A with set voltage of 13V, do I need to obtain a 5+Amp bridge rectifier?

BNSF Railway

Looks like BNSF is going natrual, LNG that is. Time to model some LNG tank cars.

Scale size street lighting

I need recommendations for HO street lamps. I had some Model Power lights but they did not look right. No wonder the base is a scale 3 feet in diameter.

Does anyone have a better solution? I currently have the Woodland Scenics non working metal castings that really look correct. But do not light.

While I am at it stop lights too. Era is 60's to 70's, local rural/urban.

More tunnel work - and lots of photos

I've updated my blog again - with lots more photos of the tunnel work I'm doing.  It's kinda hard to make tunnels look realistic, so I'm attempting some new ideas, and also focusing on visual separation and tricks, and on building believable terrain shapes around the tunnels.

Is it prototypical...

to load/unload on a branch's mainline? I have a particular situation that would require such an occurance, but since there only a couple of trains a day up this branch, it makes no sense to move a bunch of buildings and add in a siding, if the loading can be accomplished while the train is at the far end of the line. The cars can simply be picked up on the return trip.

The caboose would be left at the station at (not yet named) and the conductor and brakeman would ride the engine to the end of the line, make setouts/pick ups, and then back down to get the caboose.

Anyone give me a clue how to get the shell off an HO Bachmann GP-7?

I bought mine in D&RGW colors and since I can't find GS gons to plausibly run coal out west, I'm going to have to go eastern. My railroad is freelance but no way is a D&RGW GP-7 going to be seen pulling USRA two bay hoppers out west. Despite what some may think, I do have some standards and desire for plausibility.
