Modeling topic

Model Railroad Hobbyist Magazine mentioned in September 2015 L&N magazine on John Wilkes layout
The L&N Magazine is a publication of the Louisville and Nashville Historical Society and is a fine magazine worth reading even if you're not a big fan (which I am!) of the L&N. The September 2015 issue features the excellent layout of John Wilkes and mentions MRH magazine. On page 21 it states: "Our first feature comes from John Wilkes of Winter Haven, Florida. John is a NMRA Master Model Railroader and has been active in modeling since the mid - 1960s.

Accurail!
I bought a 3 car set where 1 car had a wrong sprue included - now, less than 24 hours later a replacement is rushing across the atlantic. No fuss, only one question asked: shipping adress.
I couldn't be happier with the effort made.

Modeling Adobe Walls with Illustration Board
I'm always on the lookout for quick and easy modeling techniques that also return good results. For a current structure build, I wanted the "original" lower story to be made from old, plastered adobe. I could have cast the walls in Hydrocal or even carved them out of foam, but while looking around my work bench to see what was handy, I stumbled across the idea of simulating the adobe walls with Illustration board.
Stem whistle in Jackson georgia
While working in Jackson ga today I heard a steam whistle. The sound came from the downtown area and moved from west to east. Does anyone know if a steam engine went through there today?
Atlas Snap Relays
Hi All,
Just a quick question, I have just replaced 10 Atlas #6 custom-line turnouts and 10 Snap relays and together they are working fine through DPDT toggle switches.

National Train Show - Combined Freemo-N layout video
Just in case you haven't seen it, there is a cab ride video tour of the combined Freemo-N layout that was at the show. Peter Keppel did a masterful job producing this video with sounds and titles. It is a time-lapse, high speed ride, so take your Dramamine!

Scratchbuilding is fun!
Hi all.
I have been scratch building some sort of a feed mill, based on Tom Johnson's INRAIL one(with his permission, of course).
There's still much to be done, but things are going the way I want to.
What do you think?
Best wishes.

Preliminary Plan
I have a preliminary plan for the left side of the new layout which will start construction in January. I would appreciate comments and suggestions once you have viewed and thought about lit.
