Has anyone replicated diesel wheel sets?

I've seen lots of car wheel sets sitting out on layouts but was curious if anyone had ever replicated diesel wheels, with the gear to the side.

One for the Espee fans

Spotted this SP relic last week sitting on UP's industrial line alongside East Marginal Way in Seattle. Have never seen it before outside (or inside, for that matter) UP's Argo Yard.

Drafting is not a dying art

Well, I experimented with CAD and could not justify the high learning curve when all I needed were some lines on paper. I took several drafting classes in high school and at one time fancied that being my career. I was advised against this as the very latest thing was computer aided drafting. I almost took a course in that at my local community college but instead steered my career to the machines that the software ran on.

Operating on a layout with signals manually controlled

QUESTION: Has anyone operated on a layout that has signals controlled manually by a dispatcher versus block occupancy or a computer driven software program? Would like to hear some feedback on how the session went. I've added signals to control both interlocking areas on my layout and will have some of the guys over to 'test' running trains. This will be a learning experience for the operators as well as myself.

Thanks to all who reply

Old UTLX Prints

My Grandparents have some old items from their father who worked for UTLX. I am not sure if they will be worth anything but they are simillar to postcards though slightly larger and have different photos/printed paintings of UTLX tank cars. I believe they only were available to older staff as I can not find them anywhere online. If anyone has information on these I would greatly appreciate it (sorry not photos at this time)
