Modeling general discussion

Do I need a PC to use Laser Cutter, 3D Printer, and/or CNC Router Table?

OK, at the moment "modeling" is on hold as I'm handling several other things on my immediate to-do list, but one of those projects brings to mind this question.

Looking for help with how to install a brake line

I'm trying to find information (or better yet, actual photos) about how brake lines looked on early railroad passenger cars, probably circa 1860 - 1900. The kit I'm building simply has a thick line laid down the middle of the car body but doesn't take into account the elevation of running over the truck bolsters so I don't know how 'steep' the angle should be of the line between bolster and attaching to the middle of the car body.

Commonwealth 242A passenger car trucks

I am looking for suggestions for an HO scale Commonwealth six wheel heavyweight passenger car truck. So far I’ve found American Scale Models, quite pricey at $30 a pair. Are they worth that cost?

Red River RPM 2021 Photos

Yesterday was the inaugural Red River RPM Meet in Fort Worth, Texas. It was a fun time and a better turnout than we'd hoped for. I got to meet a lot of new friends and see some old friends as well. It's hard to pick some photos to share, so here's the link to the entire gallery:

Also, my phone doesn't do near as well as a camera so if you look around the usual spots (facebook, flikr, etc) I'm sure you can find far better photos of the event.

Here is a Con Cor White COE with a stretched frame and a Walthers dumpster. I still need to build a tailgate.

Display track

Does any company out there sell plastic display track in 36 in or longer sections.

I want to build a display cabinet,  and would like the trains to be sitting on track not just the wood.

maybe if needed (cost thing here) could try milling out some junk pallet wood. But that requires me to buy a couple new powered wood working tool$.
