Hand Painting Tools
Awhile back I sat down to paint a bunch of unpainted Preiser figures... little amounts of lots of acrylic colors. I quickly found the repeated color changes & brush cleanings to be time consuming and a pain. I tried a round plastic palette with a dozen or so divots in it... better but it took up valuable space on the bench! Then I came across a GOOD solution! Its called a "Charze 3D Artist Palette",
Model wheel diameter question in S or O scale?
Anyone in this group know of train wheels available in the range of .344" to .550" in diameter? Either including the flange or not including the flange?
I'm in the process of building a MOW crane in 1\29 scale and I need some Hy Rail wheels. HO wheels are way to small, so I'm thinking it will have to be either S or O scale.
Suggestions?

Looking for a video that was posted a few years back...
Can anybody help me locate this "film"? There was a video shared on here about prototype time-table/train order operations. This was a few years back. It was black and white but high-def. It was perhaps Canadian and perhaps mixed in with other "films". I can't seem to locate it on here or other sites. Thanks if you can help! -Chris.
Ramblings on a Garden Railroad
I have not seen many posts in garden layouts. My interest is a railroad to serve the Lilliputians living among the bushes and around the edges of my yard. This would be designed to operate as any of the smaller scales and based on railroad practices as much as I have knowledge to do. Help here is appreciated.
Please consider following along and provide your input. I am very open to ideas and look forward to a new journey.

Visits to club layouts
Visits to club layouts:
There are lots of clubs that have open houses and some private layouts that are also open to the public at different times. In addition to these there are museums or similar organizations that have model railroads open to the public. I just wonder how many folks have gone on these visits and what attracted them to the places they visited.
I also wondered how many folks have joined a club at one time or another and if no longer a member why they decided against remaining so.

Why do 'how to' and layout videos all seem to look alike?
I tried to watch someone's project video and after a few minutes, I was fast-forwarding through it and realized he never actually does anything and never even leaves his chair.
I have to ask, why do so many people do exactly the same thing(s) in videos like this? I see this kind of thing all the time and it's a sure-fire way to get me to click away from it:
Hobby Store question
Has anybody heard of or dealt with Railway City Hobbies? Why I ask is that I put their address into google maps and there wasn't a hobby store at that location.
Type of handrail
How do I determine what type of handrail is on this diesel?
Is it a L/H Handrail: High or a L/H Handrail: Straight.

RPI - NEB&W - The Berkshire Lines
Just got back from a wonderful railroad experience. Back in the late 70's and early 80's I learned about the Rensselaer Model Railroad Road club at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. I had made several visits when the railroad was open to the public. The last time I was there was in the mid 80's. Then getting to know Bill Gill for the last several years lead up to a visit this spring for the 2018 Spring Op. Session. Bill invited me to join him as a guest operator.
