Looking for a source for a custom decal -Palmer Asbestos smoke stack
Fellow modelers: I'm looking for a source to supply a quantity of two to four off white decals to represent the lettering on my Palmer Asbestos smoke stack. I know it would be pricey; however, I think that I would go crazy trying to duplicate the lettering myself. Thanks in advance for your help. Here's a picture of the stack:

A sign of model railroad mental illness
In my recent blog post about the transformers for my Fluke Transformer scene I had said "What fun it was gluing the insulators on the tops of the transformers (NOT!)". I though I'd share a picture of an insulator on top of a penny so you could get an idea of the size (which is smaller than a grain of rice!)
I believe trying to glue 24 of these insulators on top of the transformers (2 each) just to make a scene more interesting may be a sign of mental illness. What do you think?
SL1
Joe,
Sorry to see the SL1 is coming down. But I understand the reason for it. It was a lot of fun helpng you with the construction, it was a nightlight of the week. I miss being part of the group and a good friend. Hope all goes well with the new layout. Good luck and God bless.

My grandfather was in Korea.
My time off this weekend I will be looking up where my grandfather worked on the PRR.

Max Magliaro's 99% scratchbuilt SP&S 0-6-0 in N Scale. Yes, that is a quarter for scale. Incredible work.
Painting a resin kit
I am making my first Funaro resin kit of a Seley hopper. I have 2 questions related to painting.
1. the directions say nothing about priming. Should the resin be primed?
2. There are small brake parts that are installed under the hopper on the frame. Should I paint these before I install them or can I get them with the airbrush later? -- I am a novice airbrusher -- only done track weathering thus far.

Weekly Photo Fun--May 20-26, 2018
Let's start off a new week's photos!

CSX Derailment in Aleaxandria, Va
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A CSX freight train derailed early Saturday morning in Alexandria. Officials said there were no injuries reported, and a total of 30 cars were derailed
Alexandria police said the derailment happened just after 7 a.m., after a bridge partially collapsed. Police closed Wheeler Road between Early and Gordon streets as a result of the derailment.
Hidden Staging Video Camera?
Looking for suggestions from the experts.... I have a long hidden track that runs from my staging yard (closet), behind the backdrop around my room and emerges onto the layout. Total run is about 50 feet, around 3 sides of the room. This room, BTW, is a "bonus room" over a garage with sloped ceilings. So this hidden track is behind my backdrop, on a shelf (the backdrop is removable for maintenance/rescue). And the light level back there is minimal - not totally dark, as there is some reflected light from below, but not real bright, either.
