3D challenge

Is anyone who likes to do 3d printing interested in a challenge?  I need a jig made for soldering rungs and rails for caboose ladder.  I have a 2d dxf file with the dimensions, but have not done 3d designs.  If interested e mail me and I will send the dxf file    jimcubie1@gmail.com

Just curious, what other hobbies do you have?

I am just curious. Do you have other hobbies, and if so, what are they?

Will trade sanctions hurt the hobby?

Will prices increase?

Will orders be delayed?

Will foreign manufactures decide to sell directly to the public?

What are your thoughts?

Sizable theft of railroad collection

Received the following text in an email from the PNR of the NMRA; given the breadth of coverage of MRH it occurred to me to post this as an alert should anyone encounter any of these materials.  I don't know if MRH has rules pro/con postings like this but if it should help either the original owner or anyone who might unknowingly purchase stolen goods then it seems worth making.

how small is n scale compared to ho scale in terms of track

ok so first off i live in a small 370-SQFT studio apartment so im limited on space. ho scale is to big for the small space i have set aside for my trains

so im wondering in terms of layout design how small is n scale compared to HO. lets say i wanna build a standard oval layout how much smaller would it be?

im limited ro 1 foot 7 inches wide by 3 feet long its the only space i have at the moment. would an n scale oval layout fit or would i need more space

Archive-X Enamels (sold as Floquil replacement)

For those interested in replacing Floquil paints, there may be a new option worth exploring: Archive-X paints. I haven't tried them out.

Studio scale modelers scratchbuild replicas of models used to make movies (like X-Wing fighters and the Enterprise), at the same scale, using the same vintage kit parts—and the same vintage paints (SP Lettering Grey is the base color for Imperial Walkers). Like us, they are very interested in replicating Floquil enamels, and some of them got to mixing paints.

Thanks, Dad, for Starting Me With Trains

Just want to pay tribute to my dad on this Father's Day for igniting my interest in model trains with that HO by Lionel set that he put up every Christmas.  Dad is long gone, but I still thrill to see an orange and blue box.
