Changing an existing layout
I am going to be converting my n-scale layout from DC to DCC. In the process of re-doing the electrical wiring, I am also going to be removing track and changing the track plan. My hope is to be able to save a good portion of the existing layout.
Any tips or thought on how to remove ballasted track without destroying everything? The ballast was glued with either diluted Elmer's white glue, or WS Scenic cement.

Adversity brings out the best in people
Following the vandalism attack on exhibits at an exhibition in the UK, a donations website was set up to fund raise towards helping the club that organised the exhibition, and the exhibitors and traders who lost so much of their life's work. The fund aimed to raise £500 (GBP). It has raised over £80,000 (GBP) in two days. Rock star modeller Rod Stewart pledged £10,000 (GBP), and music producer enthusiast Pete Waterman also offered his support.
My first time using an airbrush to paint a model railway model.
I got out my airbrush today to paint piggybacks. These piggyback kits are made by Modelwerx.
This one I got at a meet and it had a poor application of decals on it so I removed the decals and repainted it.
I also painted these brass storm doors for my cabooses; another project.

3D printing safety
For those that use or are knowledgable about 3D printing, how concerned should one be about the gas emissions from each type of machine – both resin and filament printers?
I'm thinking about purchasing a printer but have a confined space. From what I've read the printers can give off quite a bit of gas.
I'm not so interested in people's affirmation that the machines give off gas (they do), but I'm interested in how users approach mitigating the gases.

Ultrasonic Cleaer for Wheelsets?
I've been looking at ultrasonic cleaners and was wondering if anyone here uses them for cleaning wheelsets? Will they clean plastic wheels as well as metal without any issues? What type or brand of ultrasonic cleaner have you used? Do you need to add any cleaning solution or just good ole water?

Vandalism at Model Rail Show
This is awful - vandalism in the UK.
Let's hope it never happens again.

RC controlled HO scale vehicles???
Take a look at the videos in the first post. What do you think this is all about? I love the bulldozer pushing gravel around. Talk about adding cool animation. Wow!

Another hard working steam engine (2-6-6-2T) on Mother's Day
Good morning,
This past weekend I was visiting my Mom and Dad in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The weather was perfect for picture taking and I hadn't gotten any video of the "1880's Train" (Black Hills Central) this visit. Here is #110 working hard and almost to the top of the grade between Hill City and Keystone South Dakota.
