Genesis 4884 big boy

Hi, I have a genesis 4-8-8-4 big boy.The engine operates sound, bells, whistles, etc.The engine will not move forward or reverse when I give it a speed command. I want to inspect the driveshaft from the engine to the wheels to see if somehow it came dis-connected as my wheels turn freely. I dob't know how to remove the shell. Anybody had this problem.

DC wiring help: 3-way and #6 on adjacent tracks

Hi everyone,

I've looked everywhere and can't find anything describing how to do what I'm trying to do....

I have three locations on my layout with the same track configuration, so if I can figure this out once, I can replicate the rest of the way.

In one direction (track one, the top track below) is a PECO 3-way turnout, with one of the diverging tracks going to the diverging track from a standard #6 turnout on track 1 facing the opposite direction (I just tried pasting the arrangement in below).

Print your own cover for bulkhead loads

I recall reading an excellent article on MRH that described how to print your own load cover for bulkhead loads.  In particular, it was referring to using a piece of balsa wood on a bulkhead car that was covered with thin plastic sheet labeled for one of the lumber companies.  I have two bulkhead cars and want to use the graphic for "Idaho Wood Products" but can't find the article.  Can anyone help me?  I'm probably using incorrect terminology but hopefully it is close enough...

Air dryer plumbing for an airbrush

Well, here is my next project.  At first, this may not seem train related but it definitely is. It is copper plumbing to cool the air coming off of the air compressor before it runs through the air/water separator. This is something a lot of home shops have to ensure there is not water getting into the tool and creating rust spots on critical moving parts. Of course, everyone here understands the importance of dry air when air brushing that freshly detailed model.

Amazing German HO Scale RC Trucks

Pardon me if this has been posted before... I've never seen anything like this at a train show or even online:

No Local Hobby Store--need to get small detail parts

The nearest local hobby store that carries detail parts like grabirons, lift rings, smoke boxes, pilots, and all the assorted superdetailing parts is FAR, and in a direction I rarely go.  I'm looking for the best mail order place that carries an assortment.

Thanks!

layout tour/Rick Sutton

I was asked if I have any photos of my entire layout so I took some. The layout is 7'x17' at the end of a garage....like the real estate folks say instead of small...it's "cozy".

The photo bombing was due to the fact that I control the camera from a computer with Helicon Remote so I couldn't get out of the way! I'll have to learn how to set a time delay so I can hide next time.

Atlas class light voltage

I just installed a Tsunami 2 in an Atlas Fairbanks Morse H16 with class lights.I wired the class lights to the extra light function using the 1.5 volt common. The lights are not working.Does anyone know the voltage of the bipolar LED class lights?
