TOMA approach for getting from Future layout to Present.

Hi all,

I have almost finished designing my future layout destined for a permanent future house (when the time comes...), that fits the prototype/locale i like.

Test of upload - loading dock fairly modern

Ballasting...

Okay, so... what I was told at the hobby shop was, spread the ballast, then spray it with a "wet water" made from water and alcohol, and then glue it using 50% Elmer's Glue All, and 50% water...

Under which banner is a train order issued?

I am nearly there with my Open University project. I have the switch lists displaying on a tablet and all the software seems to work. I now have a question about switch lists and train orders.

ROLLING STOCK AND N-SCALE CODE 55 TRACK

I am planning on using Code 55 track on my new n-scale layout.  I understand that on some rolling stock the wheel flanges are too wide for Code 55 track, but will fit Code 80.

When looking at purchasing rolling stock, how do I tell that cars/ motive power I buy will have flanges that will fit Code 55 track?  Are they labeled in a special way?

Tooting my own horn (sound in an S100)

Just had to post... I just finished up putting a Loksound Select Micro in my son's Rivarossi S100 0-6-0T and I'm pretty damn proud of myself. This was my second sound install and my first in a factory-finished loco, and a freaking tiny one at that.

A quick rundown of everything I did (roughly in order):
Convert decoder from NMRA 8-pin to NEM 651 6-pin plug, using the dummy plug pins
Add speaker and speaker box
Download sound project file to decoder using LokProgrammer

Anyone have an ORER from 1991 or newer?

I'm trying to research some information on Norfolk Southern depressed center flatcars.  The only ORER I currently have is from October 1988, and NS as we know it now didn't come into existence until 1990. Hence, Norfolk Southern doesn't even exist in my book.

I'm looking for details on depressed center flatcars around the number series containing NS 185220.  In general, I'm also looking for details on other similar cars with AAR type codes F431 and/or F331.

Thanks!

Craig
