An Armchair Assessment of Turn-Key DCC WIFI Systems
This post is based on published specifications and claims. It is not a review based on hands on experience with MRC's system. It is not an endorsement of the system, it is a discussion of what they have done and how it may be viewed for improving DCC systems in the future.

Operations outside the box
I have been considering what it may take to have remote operating sessions. To illustrate what I mean here is an example. My layout will have rail barge service that operates out of Prince Rupert BC, sending and receiving cars from other places along the pacific coast that also have rail barge service like Whittier Alaska, Vancouver or where ever.

L & N MNO&P Div. 1955 HO
This railroad has been under construction for many years but couple of years ago Mikes life long fiend Lou Schultz and the C & O Allegheny Div passed away so time to move forward. We are almost ready to operate.
In need of an old issue of MR
I am in need of an old issue of MR. August 1979 to be exact. And to be more specific the article on the Fonda, Johnstown and Gloversville Railroad. I have already checked MR back issues and they don't go back that far.
If anyone has that issue and wouldn't mind photocopying the article and mailing it to me. Or scanning it and emailing it to me, I will gladly pay any reasonable costs.
You can contact me at jjb522710@gmail.com
Thank you in advance

Water Depth (HO)
I'll helping a friend who is modeling a portion of a shallow bay with concrete piers across it. The bay in HO scale would be 1-1.65" deep mimicking the real water. He has the room to model something like that but I was curious about pouring a water mix like Woodland Scenics (like their new water system) or another brand to that depth.
Should he do the full treatment as usual with painting and mimicking water depth, darkness, etc and pour the full height? In layers? Maybe 6-7 layers in the 1.65" inch areas?
Thanks.

Cornhill and Atherton - Insular Gorge
Now that the lower deck track work is complete I can move on to the (arguably) more interesting subject of scenery.
I have three major project areas - Glanton, Cornhill and Insular Gorge and it's the latter I am starting with because the ideas are most developed for this section. Also, track testing continues in the two towns, whereas Insular Gorge is simple straight track through a scenic section:

CityClassics
Does anyone know if the owners of CityClassics (Jim and Cyndi Sacco) are ok? Their web page cart is disabled, most of the product links from their site don't work and they mention dealing with some health issues. Nearly all their products are back ordered on Walthers and Hobbylinc. I certainly hope they are doing well. They are such an asset to our hobby. Does anyone know?
