Forum issues...
Okay, so... I can't comment!
I log into this forum, and it will let me blog, sure... but if I try to comment on any thread, it logs me out, and tells me I have to log in to make a comment (deleting whatever comment I've typed)
Also, if I go to another page, it does the same thing. So, say I'm reading a new message, and there are more new messages on the next page, when I go, I'm logged out again.
I have no idea how to fix this!
The Chessie System in Michigan, a layout of my own.
I must start this with a bit of backstory, my name is Sandy Saunders and I live in Worcester, England. For the last twenty years or so I have been a member of an N Scale modular group (Snake Bend - link) and have found it enjoyable and fulfilling.
Urgent need for a custom made chassis and interior for HO scale subway!
Dear All
I just recently joined this forum based on a recommendation from a fellow model maker. I am currently in the process of starting my HO scale train model and have ordered a subway model from the Berlin BVG. Unfortunately as they are rare to find I had one designed and printed.
model-genic railway bridge
One of the benefits of my job is that I get to fly around in helicopters. On my recent trip to eastern Quebec we flew out of the airport at Havre St. Pierre. The QIT (Quebec Iron and Titanium) railway bridge is just to the west of the airport, so I made a point of requesting the pilot to fly around the bridge so I could take some photos - one of the perks of being the boss. He did so, and I am thinking I need to figure out a reason to have this bridge on my layout. Not correct for my locale but pretty cool none the less.
Master Creations Car Float - Prototype?
I have been looking into car floats again and solutions for my logging and navigation company in the north west.
I came across the Master Creations Car Float.

Does anyone know if it was ever produced and second to that is it based on a prototype of any sort? I did a bit of hunting around but hevent been able to come across anything like it yet.

Timbertimes magazine website down?
The website for Timbertimes magazine seems to be inoperative; does anyone know if this is just a technical problem or is it indicative of something more serious? Their publication schedule is so erratic it's hard to tell if they're still in business.
Digitrax, MRC or NCE...which do you prefer?
I am planning my N-scale model railroad, and want to use DCC.
For those of you who have used and/or are using DCC, which system do you prefer? NCE? Digitrax? MRC?
I have read much about these, and am getting overwhelmed. This will be my first layout with DCC, so please remember I am a first timer. What are the advantages and drawbacks of each?
Thanks.

S curves
Hello from Belgium,
One of my favorite aspect in the hobby before scenery and scratchbuilding, is trackwork on my N scale layout, with broad curves and flowing track, turnouts are by Fastrack jig, #6 in yard and industrial spurs and #8 on the main.
In many forums I see many discussions about the use of S curves in our tracwork.
Many pro and cons about the use of S curves but feel more cons about them.
If we look at mother nature many real trackwork follow S curves, large ones of course to snake between natural obstacles.
Cricut Explore Cutter - DIY Pilot Precise V5 Pen Holder
I have been experimenting with using a Pilot Precise V5 Pen in my Cricut Explore One to make nail holes. If you use a very small circle of .001" radius, the machine just effectively make the pen jab a hole.
However, I was noticing that my nail holes where not where I put them. They are all shifted off to the right in the picture above. I am using the Kid Sharp Productions pen holders pictured here:
Newbie-(wait, it gets worse)...with a table top of 4 by 6 to work with, HO gauge...4 x 8 just too long for this room....
I see Bachmann dcc layouts in a 4 by 6 config, so I figure it may be doable, and it looks like I still have at least the 18" and 22" curves to work with? Referrals to the appropriate small layout information sources will be much appreciated! Greg Wms
