Photos of a famous shack in Rock Springs, GA?
In 2016, I rode behind 4501 from TVRM across northern Georgia on one of their day long excursions. I saw this shack as I passed by and got interested. Turns out, it shows up in a lot of photos and video of those trips:

Model Paints
I'm planning to paint two E8s to the colors used for the last run of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. There are a number of photos of the E8s, and the colors are based on the colors used by the Wisconsin Southern. I would like to use a water based paint, but am not finding what I am looking for. Any suggestions will be most helpful.

LGB track question...
Quick question about LGB track...
Is it all mostly compatible with each other?
For instance, I have a half oval of Bachmann G track... if I bought LGB track from eBay would the two be compatible? Or are the connections different? I have two Bachmann sets that I've never been able to test, because I only have that half oval, and have been considering putting up an oval of track, and seeing if these locos even work.
What is the metal used in Atlas locomotive weights?
I don’t have access to a spectrometer any more and wondered what the material is. Is it a pure metal, zinc comes to mind or an alloy?
Thanks.

DCC Light Flicker
Okay, so here's a question... when I built my Hogwart's Castle (well.. not so much built, as modified) for DCC and sound, I added an LED light inside the cab to simulate the fire in the fire box. Because the engine has no headlight, I wired the firebox light into the decoder for "headlight" and have the decoder programmed so it stays on for both headlight, and tail light (so it's constant on)
My question is... is there a way to program that light in CVs (or better yet, JMRI) so that it flickers? Or am I stuck with it as just a solid light?
National Garden Railway Convention & National Narrow Gauge Convention
I’ve been lamenting not getting to the NTS this year so planning ahead for next year. The NGRC 2019 are August 27 - 31 in Portland and the NNGC Sept 4-7 in Sacramento so Amtrak between the two cities is planned.
I realize that this is over a year away but hope to meet other modelers while on the west coast. A trip to the the San Juan Islands may happen either before or after these events to see family so let me know if there are people, or places to see along the way. Road trip!
Adhesives
The thread as to the merits of various adhesives relative to trackwork is, as are most posts, very interesting.
As to an adhesive to be used for securing ballast, the Mod Podge vs Matte Medium suggests Matte Medium is the preferred option. In turn, that prompts me to ask is there a difference between Scenic Express' offerings of Matte Medium vs Liquitex Matte Medium?
Thanks and regards,
Bart
Bachmann HO Amtrak ACS-64
I recently purchased the new Bachmann HO ACS-64 electric. The model itself is beautiful. Its running qualities on DC are terrible. My RR is DC and it will stay that way. I phoned Bachmann to see if they had any suggestions to improve the performance on DC. I even questioned hardwiring the motor directly to the trucks and by-pass the decoder. I have no interest in DCC or sound. I was told there was nothing that could be done! I wasn't going to "buy" this. I disconnected the motor leads from the PCB and soldered them directly to the truck leads. It runs beautifully.
