Turn of the century backdrops. (Around 1890-1910)

I am looking for a backdrop for a turn of the century module. My Google searches are not coming up with anything. An example of what i'm looking for can be seen at the bottom of this page. https://www.nscalesupply.com/DET/DET-Details.html
I'm making a small module/diorama for my wife.
Thanks

Build an Sn3.5 1870's 4-4-0

Have a "what-I-did" delving into the conversion of a new tooling oldtime H0 Bachmann 4-4-0 into an early Sn3.5 4-4-0.

Later web articles will detail and paint the loco.

Just in primer now as we need to build some cars and plan some layout.

A little help from my friends

I need some help with exploded views, wiring diagrams of a Tenshodo Brass SD 24 in HO scale. I got a call this morning from one of my club brothers who wants the exploded views, wiring diagram for the diesel listed above. If anyone has access to the information and can copy it and send it to me via email or even scan it and post it in the reply it would be greatly appreciated. George F is under the impression that the readers of the blogs and this magazine are a source of all information that is worth knowing, he has a rather high opinion of all of you.

Hand Laid Turnouts and controlling solder

Hi Folks:

Much thanks to all who came to my rescue when I had troubles getting my hand laid turnouts going.  I SEEM to be making progress on that front, but have come to a technique issue.

Good things come to those who wait.

Welp, my old house is finally on the market and I can take a moment or two to relax and collect myself before I roll up my sleeves and get to work prepping my new layout room. It's taken longer than anticipated to get to this point, but I'm glad I am here now!

Fibre Board ceiling tiles an alternative to homasote ?

I'm hunting an alternative to homasote board. Our local hardware stall in Australia stock compressed fiber ceiling tiles
and was wondering if they may be a similar density to hold track spikes for hand laying.

Here is an example.  would be looking for one that isn't "pin hole" texture.

Do I need metal axles if I'm going to install a 'proto' signal system?

A MRRing colleague told me that I need all of my wheelsets to have metal wheels and axles if I want them to activate/trip the signal system on my layout. This seems logical to me as a basic proposition of how electricity is conducted and how the proto signal systems work, but I wanted to confirm that here.

Thanks!

Speaker or Speakers for a Locomotive?

I'm updating the electronics in a Atlas O SW9, including a new DHB28-Box  (8 Ohm) speaker.

The SW9 has an existing speaker which is 8 Ohm and 1.25W in the fuel tank.

The new speaker will be placed behind the opening/grill at the front of the SW9.
