SOO LINES LOST DIVISION
Another Great Layout from the Southeast Part of the Country. This layout is part of Dixie Rails. Enjoy.

Scale Model Animation 14: Grade (or Level) Crossing Control
Model animation—bringing models to life—adds enormously to the interest and enjoyment of any layout or individual model! This edition covers one element for animating grade crossings—triggering and control using infrared detectors, servo motors, LEDs, and an Arduino Pro Mini for timing and control.
scenery improvements
My 3 and 6 year olds thought my scenery needed some work so they went to work. Not sure if the proto police will allow this but looks good for now.
San Pablo Valley #19 (Backdating a Blackstone C-19)
I've added another new engine to the roster after some finishing touches tonight. SPV #19 started as one of Blackstone's diamond stack C-19s and received somewhat significant modifications, including a slightly shortened smokebox, rearranged and replumbed appliances, a backdated tender arrangement, and a paint job that more realistically (at least to my eye) replicates a Russia Iron boiler jacket.

Proto 2000 Parts
Does anyone have a body shell or parts from a Proto 2000 GP-18? I need a top fan (high sided type) and the end rails/stanchions to repair one that has a sound decoder in it. Apparently Walthers isn't supporting parts for these Life-Like units. Contact me if you have one, especially the fan. Thanks.

ISO Magazine Back Issues
I am about to model three CPRail SD40-2s from Athearn models.
I am looking for the following magazines.
I am happy to pay a reasonable price.

Arduino Speedometer for less than $15
Hi all!

Speedometer:
The idea was to be familiar with the game and start KISS. So, before decide where to place in the Layout, I plan for a "portable" one ( so it can be used also on a modular layout during meetings ?)
The Micro used is the little and cheap Nano, more than enough for this simple application:
Glo-Brite Cleaning Products
For the longest time this triangle of real estate in the corner of the 22nd Avenue Secondary has remained barren and empty, with no apparent development in sight. I have wrestled with this space almost since the construction of the benchwork, never having come up with a good plan for what to do with it. Besides the obvious angle-induced problems, whatever landed there had to keep the food distributor in the back accessible for switching.
Why Koreans Don't Model Railroad....Very Much...
So I've gone out and seen South Korea Proper this weekend...and I though I'd share my observations.
IN a couple of the sources I looked up, I noted that they pretty much all stated that South Korea is not that big on Model Railroading. And after I got a good look at their system, I think I understand why.
First, THIS is a typical railroad mainline.
