Resin Cast Tie Strips
Being interested in TT scale also I've discovered that the scale doesn't enjoy many products that are available to both N and HO sale, especially track components. If they are available the they quite costly or need to be imported from Europe. So you are either left with a product that doesn't quite look North American, or you will need to hand lay all the track. A couple of track producing companies were approached to see if they would make flex track in TT scale.
Finally started my backdrop for my layout
It has been a while since i had some time to start the backdrop on my layout. Living in Brisbane Au. It was HOT! Took lots of breaks to keep cool. Did not take any photos for all to see. Just thought I would post an update on my progress.

In-ko-pah RR: Another brick building
I'm finally been able to squeeze in a little modeling recently. My brick hardware store building turned out so well that I decided to do another brick building alongside it. I won't go into as much detail on this build, since it is similar to the previous one. You can see the step-by-step on my first brick building here: http://www.raydunakin.com/Site/IRR_Mineral_Ridge_2.html

Workin' on Joint Bars - for the BNML
I realized some time ago that I'm going to need hundreds of joint bars for the BNML and a recent discussion ( Staggered rail joints measurements info needed ) here on MRH got me inspired to begin working on them.
The Real Deal:
A new switch for New Brighton
I recently replaced a switch at the east end of New Brighton on my 1977 era Soo Line railroad. For years the original no. 6 would give my headaches by causing derailments especially when making reverse movements through the turnout. I decided that a right hand Shinohara curved switch would be a better candidate for this spot.
Accessory decoders and sub addresses
I have a Zimo MX82 accessory decoder that will support 4 servos. I have programmed it with Decoder Pro.
The servos are activated by sub-addresses.
I can not figure out how to enable the sub-addresses on my NCE Power Cab. I have the accessory decoder set as 4, and the sub-address at 111. When I select the accessory decoder, all I get on the screen is On or OFF. Neither seem to do anything.
Here is the Decoder Pro screen shot.
Any ideas?
Model Railcast Show - present state?
Does anyone know what has happened to that podcast; Ryan A was sadly ill last I heard, but others seemed to be helping him until the recent and current gap. I s this podcast ceased, or just a large gap?

The Sights and Sounds of Big Thunder Creek
There's a new post on the Thunder Mesa site today about putting the finishing touches on my Big Thunder Creek scene. This is part four in the series and covers sound effects, landscaping and other details. There's also a new video:

Cat Proofing your train room / Mattie in her Perch.
Prior to building my train room Mattie (our Cat) had decided a shelf at a particular window was her favorite look-out. As well, the morning sun shone in the window, and Cats being what Cats are she figured life just didn't get much better. (Mattie is an "indoor" Cat. She never goes outside unless she is on her leash)

Fine Tuning
Here are some shots of my upgrading and recording of my rolling stock with some comments. First, weighing the cars, I then check for coupler height and to see if they roll freely. I don't mean roll; I mean roll freely.
