Proto87 Stores website much improved
Hey, have you guys seen the new Proto87 Stores website? Much improved!
I'm not a proto 87 modeler, but they have great products even for us regular HO modelers. No affiliation with P87 Stores, just like their stuff - and I thought their improved website was worth a mention since I was out there shopping for some track goodies. I don't post here much, but I'm impressed with the improved website ... and wanted to pass it on. I mostly lurk ...

Was Floquil primer really primer?
I know that Floquil paint has been out of production for several years. As I use up my old stock I'm wondering if the colors marked as "primer" really were primer (special formulation that adheres, covers and/or provides a better undercoat than normal paint). Or, were they just regular paint that was the correct color to simulate primer, for example when painting a brass item to simulate primer-painted steel?

I am going to document my progress here because I am excited to get some feedback.

Is there a color convention for LED indication for turnout status?
On my control panels and any dwarf signals I have used, a Green indicator = "Closed" (Through the turnout route) and Red = "Thrown" (Divergent route). In recent posts I have seen, some use the opposite color indicator, Red = Closed, Green = Thrown. Just curious if there is a generally accepted "standard" for Closed and Thrown color indictors.....
