Driver axle slipping

Inherited N scale steam engines that kids pushed around track loosening axles in plastic centers.  Can not keep drivers in quarter.  Can not find a glue that will stick to the plastic.  Any ideas?

Update It Is Finished! Scroll Down for Pics/Scratchbuilt O Scale Miners Cabin

Finally got time to do some work on this project.  I plan on building more of these to sell later.  I Really like how this one is turning out.  I used Fisker crimpers and printed cardstock for corrugated metal.  Still need to weather and blend with chalks.

Tie Stain

With out getting into a discussion about the color of ties.... Does anyone have any suggestions on staining ties to match give or take the color that Micro Engineing used?  The point of this is I have a bunch of turnout ties I need to stain and I use ME track so I would like to get them close to that in color. That way I have a common starting point for weathering the ties.

Need help with a passenger car

I need some help with a passenger car.  I have put together an old Walther's 80 foot coach kit.

Here is the box.

Here is the coach

Its a plastic replacement roof.  I want it to represent a rebuilt or at least re-roofed Illinois Central heavyweight chair car.

Layout Update #5A

The section of the layout that is in the video is where the double track mainline goes in/out of the west helix, the branch line goes in a loop above the west helix, and the town of Michaelson is against two walls.  The depth of this section is 30 inches and so I found that it would be easier to remove each module and work on them when I was sitting down as opposed to stretching over them after they are screwed down in place on their support structure.

New Raspberry Pi Announced

Probably many of you are aware if you have interest in them, but the new Raspberry Pi has just been announced and is said to have about 6 times more power than the previous iteration.  I haven't got into these yet, but one day, I'm sure I will.  Thought it might be of interest to some here that weren't aware...

'Lodores & Silvertown' Update - Track laying -

Hello,

I have started laying track in the visible area of the layout. I use a jig to keep the right spacing between the ties. I have stained the ties with an alcohol-ink mixture.

I use a adhesive tape to hold the ties in place.

CNJ Coast Guard (and other) RS3s & Cabooses

My next "bright loco" project looks to be CNJ's Coast Guard RS3s, bright red body with white "racing stripe" herald.

Atlas did run of them, and they show up occasionally on Ebay and quickly go for much more then my budget.  Herald King makes the decals for the standard Coast Guard scheme.

Help, My Electrical System Refuses to Work

HELP! I have a DIY throttle system on my layout which is made using a Bachmann power pack with Cat 5 wire connecting a SPDT direction switch and a 1K Ohm Potentiometer enclosed in a Radioshack project case. I was running a train on the layout when the loco stalled. I moved it figuring it was a dead spot/ dirty track but the loco refused to move. After a few seconds, the loco would only move at slow speed even when the potentiometer was cranked up to full power.
