Modeling topic
Recasting a still in production model is Theft but do we tolerate it in Model Railroading? If so Why?
I have seen a few low life model railroaders now recast others work. This is just out right theft of peoples works and then post that they do recast like it is some new found art form. I know a few people that do 3D design and printing or casting of models that they build and design for Cars, Trucks, Hopper Loads etc. etc.. Then some Dirt ball low life thief comes out and recast that 3D model in resin and use the molds to make Train Cars, Autos and locomotive parts of the original 3D product or casting.

Kadee #309 Electro-Magnetic Uncoupler Problem
I'm testing the first HO scale Kadee #309 electro-magnetic uncoupler that I mounted on my layout and I'm not able to get the HO couplers to separate. I'm pretty sure the electro-magnet is wired correctly as I can get a small drill bit to rotate on the track when the uncoupler is engaged.

Soooo tired of buying ink ....
Just spent another $13 for photo black ink for my HP C6380 scanner/printer. It seems like the stuff just evaporates!! I barely use it - except when I get a wild hair and decide to try the "Print-N-Cut" feature on my Cricut and it sees like the 'low ink alert' is always lit. And I have begun getting 'general printer errors' ever since the big windstorm and took out my computer and some other electronics.
Layout plans
I would like to find a shelf type layout with street running.

The Calico Gold Co. ~ A Portable Mini-layout in On18
Today I'm starting on a new project: a portable mini-layout in On18. While remaining portable for shows and events, the layout is also being designed to "plug in" to my On30 Thunder Mesa layout as a feeder line. As the build progresses, I'll be be posting updates here on this blog, along with more in-depth articles on the TMMC website.
Here's a track plan and concept illustration for the simple 2' x 5' layout:
