Traincat SP caboose help needed....

Hey everyone, I know that Bob can be really busy, and I did try emailing him, but I got no reply.

Couple of quick questions, I have figured out most of the parts (none removed from the brass sprue)...

1: where is the frog light and stand?
2: were is the smokestack?
3: where is the brake line that runs front to back?

Detailing circus flat cars

Can anyone recommend a good book on detailing and weathering flat cars and box cars for a beginner?

I'm starting to assemble my collection of circus train and wagons I collected over 20 years ago.

I've found articles years ago using scale wood and the like, but I cannot find any of that now.

Thank You

Dave

DCC Engine moves then stops then moves

H All,

I am new to this website. I think this is great site!!

I have a problem with my DCC with sound Kato diesel loco, it was working great everything worked for a while then one night I wanted to turn on the headlight but I think I pushed a wron button on the controller. Now what happens is the loco moves a distance then pauses then starts back up again the sound never stops so I know I do not have a short, i am thinking I pushed a wrong series of buttons on the controller and now has some kind of starts and stops programmed into it. Anybody seen this before?

And Score!

Been a heck of a 2 weeks here.  Thought I would let you guys in on some of it.  Started by finally figuring out where the sores and such on my lower legs were coming from - poison ivy from the dog's fur.  We found out when the bush he liked to play under was removed and the yard guy found the Poison ivy.

Tips For Beginners

OLD DOG; NEW TRICKS. i've been in model railroading for most of my 69 years but have really been active for the last five or so. I was at a train show recently, purchasing coupler conversion kits and interiors for passenger cars, and complained to the dealer that some of them rode rough or derailed at times over switch frogs and other areas.

"Have you tuned the wheels on the cars," I was asked. "Sure," was my reply; "I just put new steel wheels on all of them."

missing construction templates

I picked up an old Taurus Products kit for 20 ft.wood ore cars (2 in 1 kit) kit # 305.

I can't find a web site for them, are they still in business ?

My kit has the instruction sheet but no Construction templates that are called for .

Any help here? Thanks.

Motor Performance

While surfing for an answer to MDC's 4-6-0 & 2-6-0 models as to there prototype I ran across a very interesting 2 page thread. The second page is the most interesting with some interesting discussion on motors by poster "fwrite".

Carefully read the third to last post on page two and learn about cogging in a DC motor.
