Dream and design
O and HO in same area
I just retired and now want to build some model train layouts. I have acquired both O and HO Loco's, rolling stock, track and scenery and see merit to both. I have a layout base completed as shown below. Each leg of horseshoe is 4ft by 16 ft with 4ft by 4ft connecting each leg at end. Plan using insde the shoe fir control stations.
Need advice from experienced modelers on having O and HO coexisting. Would it be too conflicting, should I divide with diorama mountain range with tunnel for each? Should HO have 4x16 vice 4x8?
The case for and against small blobs ...
My wife picked up the MR special issue Milwaukee Racine and Troy: The Inside Story of Model Railroader's Club Layout for me recently, and the article "Racine at Last!" caught my attention. It includes a track plan for a bedroom-sized layout. What caught my eye was the large blob in the corner of the layout. I spent some time mulling this over and wanted to hear the opinion of the group.
Planning the Citadel Complex, help and advice needed
So, I have decided to start planning out a very important part of the White Lion Railways network, being the Citadel Complex, which is the official name of the Modern Columbus Union Station, in Columbus, Ohio. The Citadel is the Epicenter of White Lion Railways operations, being the Central station of the High Speed rail system that links Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Akron, Cleveland, White Lion City, and Toledo, as well as the East/West railway line connecting Lima, Columbus, and Steubenville.

New Track Plan in the Works
Hey All,
So the original plan was for a room filling layout housed in a part of our upcoming home addition. Thanks to covid lumber prices though, the addition has put on hold indefinitely... A year out at best, so long as nothing else comes up in life.
Armoured train ideas
I’ve been looking over the ideas of getting and running armoured trains, as they are planned to make up a bulk of the White Lion Railways fleet. Many would probably have to be custom built as well. I’m looking at some freelance designs as well as prototypical designs. Any ideas for service outside of a war zone?
Gaps for rail expansion
I soldered three sections of code 70 Peco flex track together that make up a 42 in radius curve with an easement.
Where should I put in expansion gaps?

Designing for the "Crew Lounge"
I am calling it a "Crew Lounge" for the lack of a better term. This would be the space that all visitors and crew will enter first before proceeding to the layout.

For those of you who have Helper Districts on your Model Railroads...
...how do you keep them busy? Do you have more than one Helper Crew?
Woodsville NH
Does anyone have a track diagram or information on customers served by Guilford Rail in the 1980's in and around Woodsville NH?
Thanks!
Geof

W&N : Evolving plan
I am in the process of building my Phase 2 of the W&N and after completing the Birdsboro yard, I started building South towards Phase 1 on the peninsula.
May original concept had the Trap Rock quarry at the end of the peninsula, with a storage track/runaround and a couple spurs, then a siding on either side of the aisle (Joanna and Conestoga) with the Elverson, French Creek Jct. Wye area a the end of the aisle.
