A practical use for Fidget spinners
Hello there
Greenstar is back
i found a very unique way to use fidget spinners on a model railway
I ran into the unique issue while planning out an armoured railcar in HO scale, that I need the three turrets to be able to rotate, and I realized that the ball barrings on Fidget spinners could work to allow the turrets to rotate
i will post photos when I get to the construction phase as well

POLL: Which Design Should I Continue Building??
Please VOTE (and provide feedback if you have a moment longer) on these two choices for a layout design.
Which layout do you think I should continue building? LIMITATIONS due to what has been finished to date are (read, "No way am i changing it.") :
- All the bench work and base layer of 2" foam;
- Lift bridge with track
- 3' x 4' module, with 130' remote Turntable and 7-stall Roundhouse
The first layout shown is what I originally intended.
Silver rattle can paint for Amtrak
I'm looking for a rattle can silver paint. I have several F7s and passenger cars from various makes. All seem to use the same or really close shade of silver paint. The automotive paints don't look right because of the metal flakes. Basically looking for a color like Amtrak Platinum Mist to use for Santa Fe,New York Central and Amtrak. I want to paint some F7 unpainted shells and some passenger cars I Removed paint from to reasonably match other cars and locos Have not tried any Testors cans yet.
SnowPiercer (tv version)
The Eternal Engine looks a lot like a Streamliner from the 30s. Has anyone kit bashed an HO SnowPiercer yet? Big Alice looks like the blocky freight diesels from the 50s.

Dbl-crossover, 2 Single crossovers, or 1 Single crossover?
Dbl-crossover, 2 Single crossovers, or 1 Single
I've come to laying track in this corner/side of my layout, and very soon need to make a decision on this cross over situation I have. Here is the area I am speaking of

Looking for info on how to model an additional Electric Furnace, if it's worth the effort?
For a steel mill that existed in the early 1950s in addition to having the switching all of the spurs for the Blast Furnaces, Coke Ovens (and affiliated by-products), Open Hearth and existing Electric Furnaces, and the Rolling/Finishing Mills, I thought it would be interesting to also have under construction a new Electric Furnace IF it provided for additional switching of cars to bring in the materials to build it and take away whatever material needed to be removed.
Nozzle Change on an FDM 3D Printer: 0.4 mm to 0.25 mm
Quick summation for those who are thinking of getting involved in 3D printing for model railroading: Resin printers (see the Anycubic Photon that has been at the top of the board for the last few days) do fantastic detail on small parts. FDM printers (nozzles shooting warm plastic), by comparison, are usually meant for larger projects and prototyping (think brackets for equipment or buildings). While FDM's are generally cheaper to buy and run than resin, and the maintenance is less, they do sacrifice fine quality compared to the resin printers.

Creating my module with your help.
Good morning all,
Here is one of those questions with no Yes or No, or no right or wrong answer. Just a food for thought post.
I am dipping my toe into HO. While I have a major N scale project underway. I know this is not the best thing to do, but that nagging voice just will not go away with HO and the idea to model something completely different.
So toss in you vote, to sorta make this like a poll put your vote in the subject line of your reply..
Little Engines and Big Men
For decades, the siren call of modeling a TOC19 era has beckoned. I like many, many, aspects of the TOC19 eras.
However, when it was crunch time: My life experiences around diesels always won out. Every time, without fail.
I've never been able to commit to TOC19 modeling to the exclusion of diesels.
