Garage Layout

Hi Guys, I posted this elsewhere onm this site by mistake so looks like I will have to write it all again LOL.

I am in the process of designing my layout for a double garage. Only problem is whilst I am prepared to leave my car out in the cold... my wife isn't !

My Thing-A-Week challenge got a little delayed due to my wife and I both coming down with the nasty cold that has been going around. It lasts about 16 days or so, with the accompanying cough, so neither of us got a lot done over the last three weeks or so.

That said, I am finally feeling better this week, so I have returned to work on train stuff. Alas, due to a lack of parts for the electric locomotive (I need to get some wire, tiny single-wire connectors, and so forth), I have had to shelf that project for the time being.

Layout Design

This is where the evolving of the layout will take place.

BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES ON GP

This video was made in answer request of individual on kit bashing the Walthers Federal Cold Storage Building.

I cover many of the structures on the GP.

New Horsepower on the MFTR

As production began to ramp up at Lehigh Cement, the MFTR found themselves in need of additional pulling power to handle the increase in rail traffic. That power has arrived on the railroad as a lovely blue and white GP38-2 leased from EMD Leasing.

STOP!

You guys are killing me with all these posts. Beet factories, coal yards, switching layouts, oil tank farms; it never ends and I'm out of room to add anything more. My wife has already put the "Kabash" on buying an old grocery store and my local club has no more room to expand - LOL!

I got a Kato powerpack as part of an M1 kit and hooked it up to my track. I was not able to get my Bachmann EMD GP50 diesel to work. I checked all connections, and used my multimeter to verify voltage across the track at various points. I removed the body from the locomotive. I verified that the front and back lights come on, but the motor armature will not turn.

After reading up on the Internet, I suspect the brushes aren't contacting the wheels properly. The wheels seem shiny enough to me.
