1900 models - a furniture boxcar

A few years ago I started to add a few scratchbuilt and kitbashed freight cars on my 1900 train. One of the first models was this 50' furniture boxcar that I built from two MDC old-time boxcars.

"Structures in tight places" is a good article in the March issue, and I had a similar though smaller project.

Cuyahoga River Bridge - Part 2

The cork roadbed has dried and now it is time to test fit, level and make the final installation of the bridge. To start, it is helpful to have an extra set of hands (thank you Mrs. Calhoun) to hold the bridge roughly in place so that temporary supports can be installed to check for level and then installation of the slotted pieces.

Rail Fanning along the BNML 2014-03-01

Wow, it was a busy day on the Letellier sub!

The wife and I went for a drive. We began in Emerson where we found the BNSF unit grain train with some mixed interchange freight tacked onto it, parked north of town, waiting to head south across the border. The crew arrived while we were there and began prepping to move the train south.

Review of the Athearn C44-9w Union Pacific Scheme.

This is a great locomotive. I bought it used so it was rough but good price of 60.00 bucks. It has metal handrails plastic body diecast trucks. No problems I am very impressed with it. Athearn did a good job on it. It will pull probably a 20 car train this bad boy has a lot of power in it. Details are awesome metal handrails don't break and look very prototypical. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks for reading my review.

NY,V & N Rwy. get's a new SW8 in TT scale

The New York, Vermont & Northern Rwy. acquired a brand new SW1200. Unfortunately it doesn't come in un-dec. I will need to remove the lettering first. More to come on this model since it's an unusual model, at least for the NY,V & N Rwy.
