Issues with my iPhone and MRH.

When I open MRH on my iPhone, the navigation part on the right edge is all blacked out.  I can't see where RECENT POST, BACK ISSUES, BLOGS, etc., are.  All I see are long horizontal black rectangles.  Some photos at times are also all black.  Anyone have this same issue on an iPhone?  I just recently upgraded to iOS 8.1  Thanks for any info.  Tom Johnson

Air compressors

Well I am slowly re-entering the hobby. I got up the courage to modify a diesel shell with some basic details. I am now ready to paint. I haven't used my air brush in probably 10 years. I am nervous. I used to use a small oil-less compressor and an air pig. A year or so ago a 10 gal compressor came on sale at Canadian tire at a price I couldn't pass up. Thing is it uses oil. I am unsure what this means beside the fact I have to make sure the thing has oil in it before I run it. I bought it and never used it and now am nervous about tackling this paint job.

Weekly Photo Fun - October 24th to October 30th

Great thread last week! It's time to start up this weeks photo thread!

As always, we get as much out of your in-process photos as we do the highly polished "all done" shots!

3rd PlanIt Demo

Help! I just installed the 64 bit demo version of 3rd PlanIt (ver 10) and there are no libraries on my computer. Is this a limitation of the demo version, or did the install fail? Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

1st Video upload in months! A real review of the Bachmann SD70ACE.

Well I finally got it together last night. I filmed, converted, edited and uploaded my first video in months after I lost all that video footage I shot in Cleveland at the National Train show in July. I came home, converted the video files and then the hard drive crashed!! I lost EVERYTHING! I thought I saved it with a program but I did not. I just took the hard drive to Best Buys Geek Squad today and paid $154 to see if they can "recover" the video files but I do not have my hopes up too high again!

Battery Powered Rubber Band Drive HOn30 Railtruck

How fast will a rubber band drive go. Here's a possible answer to that question. The motor is a 6 volt gear drive running on 2 1.5volt Nicad batteries.

Enjoy

Having decals made?

Has anyone found a company that will make decals in low number production run?

I made some logos but when compressed they were blurry. I tested one up against a freight car and because it did not have a white back ground it could not be seen. Or is there a program I can make my own logo and then email it to a company that can print it with a white background?

Lets see your passenger trains/equipment

Love to see passenger trains and cars.

These are all I have collected and I rarely run them due to having no continuous operation layout.

Inkscape Help

After weeks of trying I finally got Inkscape up on my IMac. I've spent the day watching tutorials and reading on line manuals. So far I am at ground zero. I can't even find all the toolbars that Inkscape shows in their Quick start guide. I don't want to become a graphic artist in order to make a simple diagram of a ladder yard to use for the control panel with my Barrett Touch Toggles. I don't need a track plan I already have one from MHR. All I want to do is put down some lines and some precisely places circles.

newly in HO-code 70?

Good day modelers! I have a question. May be an answer in here already but I haven't found it. Anyway, recently made switch from N to HO. (perfect eyesight 5 years ago has degenerated rapidly) I loved N but my recent switch and subsequent planning for a switching layout has brought me many new possibilities and decisions.

Going to use code 70 or 83 rail. Any opinions? My question, specifically, will most modern RTR rolling stock and locos work on code 70 and/or 83 rail?
