My results with LED layout lights.

There has been a lot of discussion about layout lighting lately, and many people have suggested using LEDs.  I finally decided to give it a try, after reading a number of positive comments.  Catching a great sale at www.hitlights.com, and combining an order with some lights to go beneath our kitchen cabinets, made the price pretty reasonable.

CCT caboose windows?

Anyone seen these type of CCT caboose windows up close?

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=20694

I'm trying to figure out how to model them (and exactly what they are?) They look like they might be fixed screens or perhaps some kind of replacement windows? Screens make more sense given the valley temperatures in Lodi :>)   If anyone has any ideas let me know and if anyone is going to Portola one  CCT caboose is in their collection so please take a good look........DaveB

Staggered rail joints measurements info needed

Greetings and salutations  model track specialist.

Latest video - more on model photography - Image stacking

I thought some might enjoy our latest How-to video - Image Stacking for Maximum Focus
Also, new segment towards the end of the video called "sidetracked"

Oh we could call it complete focus, maximum sharpness, overall sharpness or maximum depth of field, but it's all the technique of making an image where almost everything is in reasonably sharp focus.

Need help finding an article for G Scale Modular Club Layout

I have done searches on the indices that are available for model railroad publications with no luck.  There was within the last 3-4 years an article on a G Scale Modular club that had one module as a tall timber trestle.  I can not find the article.  I thought it was MRH but it might have been in the other major competitor of model railroad publications.  If anyone remembers what magazine and issue that featured article was in, if they could Private Message me I would greatly appreciate it.
