Paint for locomotive ?

I will be painting an O scale Red Caboose GP9 in a very simple B&O scheme.

My online research has been hampered with out of date information now that PolyScale and Floquil paints are no longer available.

I would like to choose one manufacturer and stick with them, but which one?  If you had to start from scratch and choose just one manufacturer of model paint what would it be and why ?

For you B&O fans, do you have a paint formula for the blue and yellow like the picture below?

Track example from the Lehigh Valley

Here is a nice map from when the LV was proposing their locomotive shops in Sayre, PA. Most of the regular buildings and tracks you'd expect.including both turntables and transfer tables.

The interesting track is on the right side of the Main Shop (red star). It's the tail of a wye that provides access to the shops and adjacent buildings but perpendicular to the shop tracks. The left side of the shops is the typical arrangement we see and duplicate on our layouts.

Appearance of Couplers and of Rail - HO

Kadee couplers come in two sizes for HO, original size and "scale," which is still a little overlarge but more dainty than the good ol' 5's. I see much less posting about choosing one over the other, than I see about the 83 / 100 rail size debate. How come? It seems like much the same question.

Is it because the rigid "air hoses" are just as unrealistic for both?

SP modular fun

Here's a YouTube offering of the November 2014 HO-scale modular meet of the Western Union division of the NMRA(BR) in Plymouth UK, featuring some JMRI and dispatcher-controlled operations, and some particular switching scenes on my own module, Quisling CA.

Source-DC Negative ION Generator for Static Grass Applicator

FYI

I am not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere already or maybe everyone has moved on from the static grass applicator?  In case anyone is still interested in DIY "Grass Blasters", I see that Oatley Electronics is offering a new model of DC negative ION generator on Ebay.

A before, after...

....here a little "before, after" from the thrall boxcars (Walthers Gold line) I am working on, waiting on the Kadee trucks so I can finish with a lil road grime and seal it all together with some dull coat.....

All the weathering and dry brushing was done with artist oil paints, added some grab irons and Kadee 158's together with some air hoses....

I will go heavier on the second one, regarding rust and beat up....

Model Railcast Show - present state?

Does anyone know  what has happened to that podcast; Ryan A was sadly ill last I heard, but others seemed to be helping him until the recent and current gap. I s this podcast ceased, or just a large gap?
