3D printing software Zbrush

I have decided to jump into the 3D printing world. I have purchased a printer and will be using Zbrush CAD software. I am wondering if anyone here also uses Zbrush software and what you might have created.

Thanks,

Gary

TCS - Not responding to email?

I am posting here because I can't get a response from TCS via email.   Perhaps shaming them on MRH will prompt a response.  I purchased a WiThrottle in October 2019 at the NMRA-MER convention in King of Prussia, PA.   I knew then the throttle didn't exist as a saleable product at the time and would be shipper later in the year.

Search for elements of the US Army train

Good evening, I wanted to know if there is any article in the magazine about trains and locomotives of the American army.
Thank you

How to properly build a Helix for HO

Find it interesting to watch how other people do things,  I would not do it this way but as you say it is his model railroad.

Hope this works as a training aid for others on the Don'ts and Do Nots

Pan Pastels and Dullcoat

I watched Mike Confalone's videos on weathering without an airbrush.  I used the techniques on a bright blue Chessie boxcar using Pan Pastels.  It looked pretty darn good I must say.  When I sprayed it with Dullcoat out of a rattle can with a light coat.  Most of the Pan Pastel color disappeared and the surface became splotchy.  I salvaged it by reapplying the Pan Pastel.  It really needs to be sealed if you are going to use any kind of wash or oil paint since a wet medium will soak up the Pan Pastel.  I can't understand why Mike did not have

Circut cutter and white decal paper, anyone tryit?

Just wondering if anyone with a Circut cutter has tried making white decals by feeding plain white decal paper through it?  Just wondering if the decal paper is too fragile for this? Does the Circut cut fine enough for this application?

Just an idea

Gondola bottoms

Hi to all those who are still looking to make models better. I am in need of someone who can point me to a manufacturer or company that makes steel bottoms for H O gondola cars. I have been looking but to no avail. All the bottoms I see these days are wood and I'd like to step mine up a bit. Can anybody help[? Thanx in advance. Steve Klein

what interests you after getting the layout running?

There's obviously a lot of up front work and skills needed to get a layout built
 - Benchwork needs to be built,
 - track laid and wired,
 - switch machines installed,
 - turntables and other accessories installed,
 - DCC or DC power mounted and connected,
 - control panels built and wired.

Of course afterwards, tweaking to make things run right.  Scenery and structures almost seem essential

Weekly Photo Fun - Feb 9-15, 2020

It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.  There was a late-comer in last week's post.  Check it out, then come back here afterward.

British Prototype Trains and Layouts Have Appeal

Recently, I’ve been looking at British prototypes for modeling in a small space. Having only known American style trains, I had always thought the British and European prototypes looked rather strange. However, It seems to me that British profile model trains and layouts have several things in their favor. First is smaller equipment, like mainline 0-6-0’s and smaller rolling stock, for both freight (goods), and passenger.
