Source of good quality micro drill bits? (#61-80)
I tried the inexpensive high speed steel bits in a drill press, #70 bit at 1750 rpm drilling through a cast brass headlight to run wires. It simply annoys the brass and does not produce chips.
Is there a source for good, sharp, micro drill bits that are not carbide? The small number sizes, 61 through 80?
I don't really want carbide bits. They are sharp and can last, but they are extremely brittle - they will not tolerate any bending, you must use a good drill press with little runout (wobble) and clamp the item.

Please share your fondest childhood train memories
I grew up in St Matthews, Kentucky in 50’s and 60’s with the L&N’s double mainline running about 500 feet behind our home with a clear view of the tracks. Of course I played along the tracks and acquired many fond memories.
How do I buy rolling stock nowadays?
Now that I'm slowly easing back into the hobby after a long hiatus, I will eventually need to update locomotives and rolling stock. However, the one thing that is evident to me is that the days of going to my local hobby shop and picking a few blue box kits off the shelf and throwing down $20 is gone. And as much as I've kept reading and learning over that time I didn't purchase anything with the exception of a Genesis GP15-1, as I didn't want to buy things and change course for some reason.
Old Ulrich gondola - steel, aluminum, something else?
I've acquired a 1970 (guess) vintage Ulrich WW2 composite gondola. Metal carbody, wooden floor and underframe. I've disassembled it and tossed the wood. The plan is to replace it with styrene and scratch build a new under frame and brake rigging. Anyway the question is what metal did they use? I was thinking of soldering it together but thought I'd better find out if that would work or not first.
Anybody know what this made of?
Thanks,
Clarence
Where’s the hub?
The latest mag sold me on going to the MRH hub. Can I get there easily? “Searching “MRH hub” does not work.

Let's see some traction action!
I've been away for the forums with some personal health issues, that have been keeping me from updating folks on my trolley modeling projects. I still want to get something up but it might be a while. In the meantime, I thought it might be fun to prompt folks here on the forums to share images/videos/what-have-you's relating to traction, trolleys, and light rail, and while we're at it, rapid transit/subways! I'm most curious with what kinds of modeling people have to share, but prototype stuff is eagerly delightful!
HO 2x8 layout with two operators?
Hello all,
Would it be possible to design a 2x8 switching layout that can accomodate two operators?
Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Weekly Photo Fun - Feb 23-29, 2020
It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.

Here is my HO 1:87 vehicle roster and one of my layout feature, a BMW dealership.
I put up two 8ft sections of my new SoCal Desert Rail Division layout and immediately had to put my custom made BMW dealership and all my HO 1:87 scale vehicles. I have a ton.
Here is the unedited video.
