Diorama for Photography Purposes

Dioramas for Photography Purposes - Need Ideas

I've recently purchased a new Macro lens and am trying to boost my photography skills. Looks like I really need a portable diorama to make shooting easier.

Do you have a photo diorama? How did you design it? Photos available? Would love to know what you were thinking, what you built and what you'd do different.  I'm looking at size of the diorama, trackage, scenic effects, etc.

Thanks all!

Please Help, Identifying and resetting a decoder that is acting funny?

So, I have an Atlas U23b with an unknown decoder in it.
I tried to set CV 8 to 8, had no effect, except when I read CV 8 it is now 8, or whatever value I last entered, Also tried all the other reset procedures could find, none worked.
Other funny things:
The headlight and mute are mapped together, so turning on the headlight also mutes or unmutes the sound.
When setting the speed to 0 from a slow speed, the locomotive continues to move, independently of the momentum setting, as if it is on speed step 1.

Athearn HO replacement part for head lights

I have two Athearn HO MP-AC diesels both with burned out #90672.2 Miniboard Front head lights.

I have checked on line for a replacement and been calling Athearn service with no response. Any other modelers have this happen or know of a parts supplier?

Thanks, in advance.

Turntable and Roundhouse Wiring

Once again, I do not have any "electric mojo" to do this without your help. The advice for the Shinnohara switches worked out great. Now, I'm on the last leg of wiring my railroad.

Here is the basic info: I have one lead track coming to the turntable. The turntable is a manual one with two wipers underneath (one wire from each soldered to the rails on the bridge) and there are three enginehouse tracks. None of this is wired at present.

How I'm Making My Own Flex Track

Hi group,

I've been lurking around these parts for a year or so, and have learned a lot. I wanted to try and give back some value to the forums by presenting some techniques I'm using to make my own HO flex track.  I still have some inefficiencies and kinks to work out, and I welcome any input on how to refine the process.

Rock salt as an industry

How common in the north east was Rock salt  as a rail delivered commodity? era late 70's 80's?  does anyone know if rock salt and sand came via rail premixed?

Printing building fronts

Been watching Jason Jensen videos. In the "Building a City Street Scene" episode, he shows at the 30:00 mark how after building a wall from a kit (painted, weathered, windows completely) he downloads a scan to his computer and from there makes color corrections etc. then glues onto cardstock and can customize structures to fit available spaces. I'm a computer idiot (71 y.o) but asking for suggestions as to how this is best accomplished with regards to good programs and/or  tutorials as how to get started.
