Magnetization/Demagnetization of Tools
I have several tools (screwdrivers & tweezers) that have become magnetized and therefore screws, etc. will stick to them when I want them to stay where I placed them. Anyone have a way to de-magnetize iron/steel tools?
Thanks,
Stephen

IAIS's West End - "Live" rolling stock patching
Is it Real or Model?
There are so many great models and photography in these pages that it would be nice to see examples of models that look like the prototype and prototype that could be models. Here is an example - Real or Model?
Via Rail Cross Canada
Folks,
My wife and I are going on a cruise from Montreal around to the east coast and on down to the Caribbean next fall, and are contemplating taking Via Rail from Vancouver to Montreal. Well, I guess to Toronto, from what I can figure out, then change trains to Montreal.
Anybody out there made this trip, and if so, can you please comment? We plan on getting a sleeper room or similar.
Thanks,
Al Carter
Curved bridge
Hi, has anybody built a curved bridge? I have a 3 turn helix that I have built. At the top level of the helix which is also a double track mainline with a double mainline running underneath on the lowest level to enter the helix. I want to have a curved bridge about 24" radius span the tracks below.Should I scratchbuild a deck girder bridge and lay flex track or use a micro enginnering kit to acheive the same result.
Thank you, Chuck

ISE fast clock install
I spent an enjoyable evening installing my Iowa Scaled Engineering fast clock which includes two wireless slaves.
The beauty of the ISE setup is its simplicity, ease of installation, and minimalistic look which fits my personal aesthetic perfectly.

Single Slip verses Double Slip Turnouts?
Would anyone mind giving me their thoughts about using a single slip turnout rather than a double slip one,...positives vs negatives.??
I have in mind a place where I think the single slip would be advisable over a double, but before describing my particular situation I was looking to hear generalities about the two.
