Friends and neighbors, I need some advice, inspiration and / or experience.  This is NOT a 'For Sale' ad, it is an open-ended question about what to do with this stuff.  You want to buy some of it, contact me off-forum and I'll drop the URL with photos and the details spreadsheet.

The post about magnets used for greater traction got me thinking about a train brake using a magnet under a freight car to pull up a rod. I was surprised how well this worked as the test track held the car at about a 45 degree angle without letting go. Sliding the car away from the pin releases the "brake". I doubt that one car could hold a whole train but I'll add a couple cars and see how well it holds at a normal grade of 2%-3%. 

Don't know if this has been covered before, but here goes.....

I picked up a Atlas manual turntable, model 305. I can't decide if I should mount it on top of the table with the 1/4" slope or set it into the table so the tracks are level with the existing layout tracks. There is no roadbed in this yard area. The visual impact is my problem. I intend to brick it in with red brick paper or more lumber as per the turntable top. I'm modeling the early '50s. Does anyone have ideas or photos of what they did?
