Looking for suggestions!

This is my first attempt at designing a control panel. Looking for feedback on design, layout and functionality.

SCL =Standard Car Length.

The printed card will be covered with plexiglass. The mainline crossover turnouts (1 & 6) will be wired to a single switch to throw both turnouts together.

A 3rd Way - Neither CC/WB nor Switchlists

I've often heard there are two ways to operate a model railroad: 1) the ever-popular Car Cards & Waybills (CC/WB) system, or 2) Switchlists. But I'm wondering whether there's a 3rd way that doesn't get much mention - or maybe I've missed it. . .

Old plastics plant in Hampton NH?

I am getting close to having to finalize any sidings and spurs in the Hampton Nh section of my layout.  One thing I read references to here and there is about a plastics plant in Hampton that I believe goes back to prior to my period in the 1950s.  A couple histories mention it being the last industry the B&M line from Portsmouth down to Hampton served.

But try as I might, I cannot seem to find anything on where the plastics plant actually was located in Hampton.

need help powering my track

ok so i have a DC N scale track layout that sits on a 2x4 sheet of MDF that i picked up at home depot. the layout is fairly large, i should mention the track used is from the 60's-80s so its not DCC track i.e. only one engine at a time can run on the track. now onto my issue

Sad Day

Thought this might be of interests to some

To our customers and friends; it is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we write to you today about the passing of our friend, mentor and colleague Ted Klein.

The Prototype

The Kettle Falls Branch, where is that?

The Kettle Falls Branch connected with the former Great Northern mainline north of Spokane, at Dean / Colbert. The Kettle Turn (the 6th subdivision) would run from Hillyard to Kettle Falls WA and return. The Kettle Falls turn served as a bridge connecting between to Nelson BC and to the 7th subdivision connecting to Republic WA via Grand Forks BC.

Rob Paisley 2011 Grade Crossing PCB

I have been trying for a couple of weeks to get a hold him via email. They are not bouncing back so address must still be good. Has anybody know how to get hold of him in a different way. Also if any one has one of his boards that could take a photo of the back side it would be great. I have figure out most of the runs but there is a couple of areas that have me in a pickle.

Using Saran Wrap for Loco Protection

We are joining the migrating crowd. More on that later.

I have starting packing and want to use Saran (cling plus) To wrap around some locos that will be going back into original boxes with a foam lining. Once all our goods are loaded into a moving van they could be in for some extreme heat and or cold.

Anybody aware of any side affects by using Saran Cling Plus up against brass and or plastic shells with a factory applied paint job?

Thanks, Jack

Dumpster Weathering

I am a big user of images found online for my modeling. I am in search of roll on/off dumpsters that look like they have been used. Do you have any pictures to share. I am trying to weather 6 of Walthers green dumpsters and have been unable to find used pictures on line either via Google or DuckDuckGo.com searching. Most of what I have found seem to be publicity shots. Looking for real world stuff. Thanks. Tom
