Layout Life Support
How often do you self evaluate your modeling skills and abilities concerning your current layout build and/or plans?
Have you looked at your layout and thought " I could have done that better or much more efficient " ?

Atlas Gold GP-7 ATSF 2761 conversion to T&P 1110
Some pictures of my(finally!) completed GP-7.
Started life as an Atlas Gold ATSF #2761 with ESU decoder and sound. I took her down to parade rest and rebuilt her as Texas and Pacific #1110.
I did numerous modifications along the way, some of them;
Electrically uncoupling Kato locomotives and rolling stock
Hello,
I am using Kato locomotives and ruling stock for a new layout.
I plan on having several yards on my layout with uncoupling requirements.
What I need to know is can I successfully uncouple Kato rolling stock and locomotives electrically without changing the Kato couplers?
DCC decoders and light bulbs
This morning I went to the parts cabinets and rounded up some resistors and Miniatronics 15 ma bulbs and some 1/4 watt axial resistors. I used my DC power supply set to 12 volts. I don’t like big surprises.
I found that by experimentation the power for a pair of bulbs in parallel was enough to make me want to let go of the 90 Ohm resistor quickly. A lot of heat. A small surprise. The heat generated by a single bulb through a 180 Ohm resistor was quite warm and I was barely able to hold onto the resistor. The resistor size was chosen by light intensity.
Recommendations for achieving consistent miter joints on sheet plastic?
I'm trying to figure out what methods and tools to use to create quality, consistent miter joints on plastic (molded corrugated) sheets for a scratch build structure. Cutting the 45 degree miter is beyond me and I need some input.
Thanks in advance.
It's going to be one of several grain elevator/feed mill structures I'm working on using existing prototype designs.

Moving or Migrating
Well we are moving again, 3rd time in 7 years. You would have thought I would learn after close to 70 years of moving with my parents or as an adult. Nope not yet anyway. To make the story short, son #2 who lived in Minneapolis called us up last winter and told us he was getting married. We made plans to attend and then Covid ran over ever thing and most people one way or another.
Dream and Design
I want to model the Burlington Northern branch line between Hillyard and Kettle Falls in the early 70s. My goal is for the model to eventually both look and operate like the prototype.
Others might model this branch line differently. I like yard operations so Kettle Falls yard was a requirement. I also like: the feeling the train is going someplace, heavy industry and branch line switching. My choices reflect my preferences.
Bullfrog Madness!
This is my yard throat, and the lead to the service area. The turnouts are all Fast Tracks, and I'm using their Bullfrog system to control them.

Manns Creek Railway, Strip coal loading tipple, FINISHED
I finished the operating tipple. here is a video of it in operation along with some photos taken outside.
