Southern New England Railway - Video Layout Update for July 2020
I posted a new video update showing the progress and current state of my HO scale Southern New England Railway.
You can find it here:

Making JMRI/PanelPro Programming Easier...
When your programming signal logic, blocks & configuring turnouts in PanelPro, it can become a real pain going between the layout & dispatch office to check, especially running one up.
Highland Railroad Layout Tour
Hey everyone! You asked so here it is! A layout tour! Totally unscripted, unrehearsed, and shot with my iPhone so it looks totally professional!
Seriously though, I’ve been wanted to do one of these for a while and finally got a chance to do it. There’s not much to see as far as scenery, but you get a good idea of how to fit a good amount of track in a small space without it looking like spaghetti. Plus it’s possible to do without having a finished room to put it in (although I wish I did!). Hope you enjoy it!
Walthers turnouts machines and switches
I am looking at getting some walthers turnout machines for my layout and since I am a college student I am wanting to save where I can. The button/switch that you push to tell the machine to switch the turnout is around $15 and I was wondering that if I could replace that with a simple switch such as an SPDT (Or other switch if that's what will work better).

Modeling a Feed & Seed
Thought I would share some photos of a Feed & Seed building I built as part of a contest for Walthers. The kit included the Sunrise Feeds, Grain Elevator and Grain Dryer. I purchased the surge bin separately as I thought it would be a good addition the the facility. The story goes that it is the late 1960’s and in order to stay competitive the Feed & Seed has recently upgraded from reviving their material in only boxcars to now also being able to bring in material via covered hopper.

Middlebury VT new tunnel
Middlebury, VT has a new rail tunnel under construction fabricated from precast concrete. This could be a unique scene to model. Clearances in the new tunnel accomodate new equipment and the town green is improved.
Plan check
Here is my latest idea-
California/Nevada desert shortline, late 1950's steam
Preferences,
Single operator
Continuous running
2% - 2.5% grade
Opportunities for switching
Tunnel - for my grandson
Any suggestions?

35 || Scenery Experiments || Part Three
This Episode is Part Three of my video series Scenery Experiments. In this video series, I am going to attempt to weather my structures, add grass, foliage and trees, and include figures and other small details.
Growing the fleet
We have temporarily paused our layout work to focus on building our log car fleet. It doesn't make much sense to lay all the track and not have enough revenue cars to sustain operation. Fortunately, with just a couple of detail tweaks and additions, the Tichy HO scale flat cars are dead ringers for the Pacific Car & Foundry log flats used by the Sugar Pine Lumber Company but lettered for that operation's common-carrier division, the Minarets & Western Railway.
